Mounjaro - 5mg plateau

Hey folks,

As the title suggests, Im wondering if anyone has experienced a plateau on the 5mg dose?

I had great results on the 2.5mg losing over a stone in the first 4 weeks. I went up to 5mg since the suppression had worn off and I was experiencing a lot more food noise.

Since I've been on the 5mg, my losses have pretty much ground to a halt. In the first 2 weeks I did lose a couple of lbs but since then I've maintained. I've done a TDEE calculator online so make sure I'm sticking to my calorie defecit, I'm drinking plenty, exercising so I'm not really sure what's happening. I ordered another 5mg pen in the hope it was just temporary and I was still getting good suppression but still haven't lost any more.

It's really demotivating. I fully intend to increase to 7.5 on my next order and hoping somebody may have some positive experiences of hitting a temporary plateau which then resolved when they increased dose.

Im 31 weeks in now & have lost 4 stone to date. I’ve had a LOT of plateau’s along the way but have stayed on 5mg & the weight has come off.
I had one dose of 7.5mg but the suppression was too much for me so I went back to 5mg.

This happens to most of us, I think.

With every dose, I get a different rate of loss. It's definitely still going down, though.

I'm on 15mg now. I've lost 6st 6lb in a year. The last stone has taken two months to come off.

Thank you, both. That's really reassuring to hear as I have a lot of hope of finally getting a decent amount of weight off with the mounjaro.

I'll try and exhibit some patience 😁 and not worry too much. I just know from experience that I easily get derailed if I have a few weeks maintaining (it's been 4 so far)

I had a plateau on 5 mg. Its perfectly normal to plateau. Give your body some time to readjust

I read the Andrew Jenkins book, which explained about plateaus and why they happen.
In a nutshell, it’s your body adjusting to the new weight. It will start moving again, just keep going g as you are, you can’t force it.

Mounjaro helps you stick to your calorie deficit and 5mg seems to doing that for you, so not sure what 7.5mg would do to lose weight other than take you further below it.

Hints I saw somewhere to try to restart loss are the usual -

More steps
Strength training
Check TDEE to see if it has reduced / eat less
Eat more for a few days
More Protein
More water
Good sleep / less stress

Also the last two weeks included Christmas/New Year - changes to food and eating routines. It might take another week or so to get back to normal routine for food, sleep etc. I have been on the same low dose for 28 weeks with consistent losses and wasn't too surprised I stayed the same the last two weeks - was just glad I didn't gain!
