How much dexterity do you need to use Mounjaro?

I'm thinking about starting Mounjaro (my BMI is high enough), but I was just wondering how much dexterity you need to actually use it? Is it a case of pressing a pen down, or do you need to attach needles etc? It's just it would be an expensive mistake if I can't actually activate it.

You should be able to google some videos of people setting up and injecting. I find it very easy and I have quite weak hands.

I must admit my latest pen felt a little stiff and as an RA sufferer I did struggle a bit to push the plunger down, all my other pens have been fine though. As above suggests, watch some videos to see what is required.

It seems an awful faff at first but you very quickly get used to it and it takes seconds.
I wrap my fingers around the pen and use my thumb to push down the plunger. Injecting at a 45 degree angle seems best.

There's a needle to screw on - like putting a small cap back on a small bottle.

There is a paper tab to pull off the needle case - like taking the lid of a uht milk pot but much easier.

To get the dose you need to unwind the pen to the correct dose (its marked) like turning an old fashioned egg timer but slimmer.

To administer the dose its like pushing on a calpol syringe.

You need to attach a needle to the pen but that's easy. It screws on and then you pull the plastic safety topper thing off. Put the plastic topper thing back on when you're done and unscrew it and the needle will be attached to it ready to pop in your sharps box.
It really is very quick as easy once you're used to it and no longer need to follow the instructions. I'm not the most practical or co-ordinated person either!

I would say you don't need a lot of dexterity but I do find both hands useful. One to pinch the skin/fat and the other to push the end in.

Pictures of the needle to attach and the pen screwed and unscrewed.

The pen itself is about the size of a slim whiteboard marker.
