To have come up with my own, very gentle dosing schedule ?

I started MJ in May, had zero issues until I hit the second week of 5 mg and suddenly was quite ill. Had a break, had some investigations. It turned out I'm fine to continue and no underlying gallbladder or pancreas issues..

Then I started again in September and got very sick on 2.5. It may have been coupled with a stomach virus sweeping across my house but still.

Anyway I'm back on now. I had to have another break because I was starting a new job.

Now I've just been going slowly from 2.5 mg and I'm adding 0.4 mg each week and so far, so good.

I'm on 3.4mg now.

Is this ok do you think ? Has anyone else dosed it this way ? I think jumping firm 2.5 mg to 5mg is potentially too much for me. I know it will take longer this way, but I'm happy to do it if it means I don't get too many side effects.

Thoughts or experiences appreciated ?

I'm almost four months in and still on 3.75. I've lost 50lbs on it, I don't really want to go any higher while I'm losing so well plus it's more expensive at higher doses so I'll stay on the lowest working dose for as long as possible. I doubt I'll ever get above 5 before I reach goal weight. Husband has been on 5 since month 2 and also no plans to go up as he's lost even more!

And maintenance for me if I do need to stay on it will probably be 2.5mg. Cloud, my supplier, are amenable to stuff like a month on and a month off or stretching the time between doses, both of which I might try out to find the right fit. Or maybe I will just come off altogether! I'll report back in 20lbs Grin

I was really unwell the second week of being on 5mg so I went back to 2.5mg and increased the doses very slowly until I felt ok on 5mg. It's working ok for me,

I’ve been on it 6 months and am only on 5mg still. I tried going up doing 2.5 then a couple fo weeks of 3.75 then 5 but had bad gastro effects so went back down to 3.75 then gradually worked up from there counting clicks doing I think 4mg, then 4.15 etc etc.

I intend to do the same between 5 and 7.5 as I seem sensitive to the gastro effects but if I take it slow get no side effects.

I have still lost weight albeit slower than some but I’m happy with that.

i know they’re not official doses but I can’t see the harm in taking a smaller dose.

Has anyone found any correlation as to why you don't feel well some weeks and other weeks you feel fine on the same dose ?

I took 5 mg a few times, sometimes was fine and other times not good at all. The same with suppression, sometimes the same dose gives little suppression, other times it doesn't.

I found it worked the best when I worked myself up from 2.5 to 3.5 the first time I ever did it.

However I always find that the least 2-3 days before the next dose the suppression really wears off. I think that's very common. I am really hoping I crack it this time and find a dose that really helps me.

Sounds similar to me. Although I've had random issues on the same dose too. There's no rhyme or reason to it sometimes. Maybe it's what I ate that caused the upset on the same dose.

I came to ask this, what are you eating?

The most recent time I had bad side effects I ate loads of kale ( raw ) with tahini. And I STILL can not eat kale or tahini and every time I even think about it, I feel sick.

Another time I got very ill, I had eggs the day after my dose.

Other than that I can't really remember specially what I ate.

@Shrinkingrose I know she is correct, and I was agreeing with her.

And I also understand the differences between them, I was simply saying that I had done similar, with the medication that I was able to access in my country (not UK). And it worked for me.

But thanks for highlighting any confusion! Hope my update brings clarity.

@KitsyWitsy iirc the pens lasted for 6-8 weeks, it was a daily injection rather than weekly and so the pens were not measured according to doses. I didn't go over 1.8 either. It was still working for me on that doseage, and so I was happy to take it slowly. I was a lot more confident about how my body would react when I was moved over to Wegovy so was less cautious.

But, as am not in the UK, and it is covered by my medical insurance, we are subject to a lot of check ups, bloods etc. You cannot buy it privately or without a prescription plus a letter from your medical insurance to show the pharmacy that they have agreed to pay here, and you have to reach certain targets within certain timeframes otherwise the insurance will not cover you anymore. I understand your comments about it getting out of hand but as I am followed closely by an endocrinologist, I felt fine taking it slowly.
