Has anyone stopped taking them, is there massive hunger?

I want to come off Wegovy at the end of January, but I'm worried about what might happen. Has anyone stopped? How did you feel? Did the food noise and hunger come straight back?

I’ve not stopped but it will come back and to the same level as before, yes, wegovy can’t be used long term and has a risk of full regain. However hopefully you’ve retrained your eating habits now, and your stomach will have shrunk so you can maintain.

I never usually comment on here but I wanted to give an honest account. I started wegovy in feb24. I lost 4st 9lb (going from 18st to 13st 5lb) I went through each dose as recommended and I stopped in Jan25 mainly due to cost and to see how I coped without it, (nobody wants to be on medication if they don’t need to be) I have kept my healthy eating habits the same and I am more slightly active than I was before mainly keeping my steps up and leaving the car at home! It has been 8 weeks since my last dose and I am still exactly the same weight as when I last injected. It fluctuates by around 2lb but it always has. My appetite has increased a little but I am not ravenous like I have been led to believe I would be, although I am sure I will have people telling me there is still time. I crave junk food slightly more but I just control myself. If I want fish and chips, a kids portion is usually enough and actually fairly low calorie. I eat when I am hungry and I don’t if I am not. So just to say, with a little bit of will power and sensible choices it really is quite doable. Don’t let the negative articles and comments put you off!

My personal experience was that I felt hungrier than ever when I came off Ozempic, though I was only on it for a few weeks. However, the person above shows that we’re all different.

How are you getting on now @beguilingeyes ?

That’s absolutely true. One thing I forgot to say was that I tapered down for 3 months. I still used the 2.4mg but I reduced it to every two weeks.

I'm still tapering down at the moment. I'm on my last pen of 1.0. It's a bit too early to tell definitively but the food noise is coming back.

I’ve been off mounjaro since January and the hunger has returned but so far I’m maintaining - I went from 21st 2lbs to 13st 12lbs. I’m fluctuating between 13 12 and 14 2. I want to start losing again within the next month and get down to 13st by the summer holidays!

I have heard that it's the tapering that makes the biggest difference. Those that come off cold turkey really do seem to have a worse time of it with regards to hunger rebound.
