What time of day/day do you do and why?

I'm curious about when people jab.

Also about side effects - are they immediate/within a few hours or later that day or the next few days.

Ie do you jab early in the week to be "free for the weekend".

Or if you wanted to make sure you were fine for work would you jab Friday night. Or Friday morning? Or would that then mean you might have symptoms Friday day...

Id love to hear people's days and reasons!

I do Thursday around 5 pm.

I work Mon -Thu so if I get symptoms that would be hard to manage at work (which I have a couple of times) they would be at their peak at the weekend. I guess it would be even better if I took it before work on Thu but I think I would end up forgetting frequently.

Symptoms have appear 24+ hrs after injecting for me.

Sat morning, as I’m nearly always home on a sat morning, ie not travelling for work etc, so don’t need to worry about taking the pen with me.

i have been lucky not to really have any side effects other than my first 5mg dose, which even then was manageable, so it’s more this is the optimal time for me.

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 22/12/2024 09:31

Great to hear the low side effects.

I work Friday morning so wondering about taking Friday before work if its likely 24 hours before effects but will do after work if chance of the runs at work!!

I inject Friday mornings before work - it takes about a day to peak so I avoid any peak during the working day and it means my suppression is strong over the weekend and for my two days when I'm in London for work, which suits me.

InfoSecInTheCity · 22/12/2024 09:54

Thursday evening because I picked up my first pen in a Thursday and wanted to read the booklet in quiet after DD had settled in for the night.

Never had any side effects besides the ones we want, suppression and weight loss and the very occasional light constipation which is sorted with plenty of water and some psyllium husk capsules.

squidgymum · 22/12/2024 10:29

Friday morning for me, ready for the weekend.

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 22/12/2024 10:33

@squidgymum do you need to work Friday? Do you get symptoms the first day?

Yes, I work Friday morning and jab before work. I dont have any symptoms apart from suppression and constipation, but those dont stop me from working in any way.

Mysticmaiden2024 · 22/12/2024 10:58

Sunday evening so I'm suppressed all week and can go out and enjoy weekend on lower suppression but jabbed yesterday as had done 7 weeks on 5mg and it wasn't working this week as effectively and I kept snacking. Also had 3 big meals this week due to work buffet, my birthday and restaurant meal on very low suppression 🙈

Willowy1982 · 22/12/2024 18:23

It's Wednesday evening before bed for me. I've never had any unpleasant side effects either so planning it around work / the weekend etc has just never applied. And I guess with the first jab I took my chances!

Redlightbulb · 22/12/2024 19:00

Sunday late morning as I work from home so it helps avoid the cravings for snacking during the work week and I usually socialise at the weekend so would prefer to have less suppression then. Due to the Xmas period I had been out for a meal Tues & Wed. It was an unusual struggle as not used to having such high suppression when eating out.
Side effects peak about 35 hours after jabbing.

lovealongbath · 22/12/2024 20:34

Thursday night before bed.

i want good suppression at the weekends as i am more disciplined during the week .

visitbreakfast · 22/12/2024 21:51

If by 'symptoms' you mean side effects, i never had any. I did mine on a random week day morning when I had nothing to do because I have fears about serious reactions to new meds. I was absolutely fine and noticed the difference by the afternoon, it worked fast.

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 22/12/2024 22:37

Yes sorry I meant side effects,

I'm worried about side effects at work. But great to hear not everyone has them!

Friday night for me so suppression is strongest over the weekend when I was most prone to snacking. It's weakest then on Friday which fits 'Friday calories don't count'.

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 22/12/2024 23:30

I think I'll do the same.

In theory I'd like to do Friday morning so I have weekend to recover but too scare ei might get side effects during the day.

Its great to hear so many people with minimum effects.

I used to do Friday morning but then spent Friday feeling off so slowly moving to Sunday night, did Saturday night yesterday and felt fine today 5mg. Next week I'll move it to Sunday night.

Olliequick · 22/12/2024 23:50

I do Thursday, mainly because I started in December and so wanted the suppression to have eased off so I can enjoy Christmas dinner.

merrymelodies · 22/12/2024 23:57

Friday evening, before bed. I used to feel extremely nauseous after and although I don't anymore, the habit stuck.

ILoveAnnaQuay · 23/12/2024 13:46

Hi, I'm.interested by what you mean by side effects. I had my first jab on Saturday - it was the only GP appointment I could get. The next morning, Sunday, I had very loose and smelly bowel movements. Today it's been fine.

If that's going to be a regular thing I guess I could gradually move the injection day forward so I inject on a Thursday? I mainly WFH so that should me manageable.

Lola3034 · 23/12/2024 13:59

I do it on Sunday afternoon/evening. No particular reason why, apart from taking over a week from initial delivery to actual injection. I was so scared and kept on putting it off for the fear of serious side effects 😅. Sunday was the day when I got myself together and did it. Also, that day hubby was home in case something happened 🤣. I carried on ever since.
