I've been kicked out by medexpress because I don't have a gallbladder.
They won't prescribe me.

Trouble is I'm close to my goal so BMI is 26

Will anywhere prescribed me and can I still use a code?

I’m with Asda and don’t have a gallbladder. I think Asda have a code but I don’t use them.

Time4changeagain · 20/12/2024 14:08

You could email the supplier first to check before they take your money & then refuse.
You should be able to use the codes too. Some are for first time ordering with the company but there’s also generic ones too.

Here is a price comparison site, Click on the arrows next to the dose you want and it will bring the cheapest supplier to the top. The corresponding codes are on the far right.

Med express won't prescribe if you don't have a gallbladder? I thought it was only if you had gallbladder problems 😬.
Is that a general thing??

Pegsmum · 21/12/2024 11:01

Cloud Pharmacy-up to now they have given a great service and (I think)very competitively priced. They provide you with a letter to download to send to your GP, it’s entirely your decision whether you do.

murraymcgill · 21/12/2024 13:06

@HansHolbein hi I'm with Asda now on 5mg I'm finding it hard to pay this it's far too expensive I don't work and I'm disabled

I don’t understand why people don’t want their GP to know. Am I just being dim about that? I would have thought you would like a complete medical record in case of future issues.

I completely agree. My GP won't prescribe but monitors me with monthly weighing, blood pressure and occasional blood tests.

Because Medexpress told them and they phoned me and gave me a lecture, I have autism and was really upset and just told them I wasn't taking anymore as they said I can't as I do t have a gallbladder.

But other people let tou but I don't want them ringing me again to lecture me.

I just switched from med express to family chemist. Wasn’t using a discount, but med express suddenly wanted my entire medical notes/history which my go was not willing to give them. They said something about an app but we don’t have that in my part of Scotland and it seems a hassle and a half to send all that stuff to them. However I was happy for them to inform my gp. You can opt whether you want to inform the gp through the family chemist. Ordered yesterday and pen arrived this morning.

That’s really good. I paid for a private blood test last week and was really pleased with my cholesterol and HbAC1 results. Wish I had a set done before my WLI journey. I did a BP check at the surgery last week and that was all normal. I handed read out into reception so they entered it onto my record

FatsiaJaponicaInTheGarden · 21/12/2024 15:12

Hang on I'm going onto this in January. I dont have a gall bladder. Is this a thing. Will my gp cancel it??

I got a text from I'm mine saying how well I was doing. I knocked 158 points of my NAFLD check, it's nearly normal now after 30 years of biopsies and scans.

I don't have a gall bladder, and have been prescribed Mounjaro, it wasn't an issue with my GP.

NotMoreBadNews · 21/12/2024 16:09

Your GP has told you not to take a certain medication and you're just ignoring them? No doubt in the case of any severe side effects you will run straight to them! Absolute madness. People have lost their minds about these jabs.

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 21/12/2024 17:04

@NotMoreBadNews that’s not how I’ve read the OP’s comment! ‘They said I can’t as I don’t have a gallbladder’ is the prescriber not the gp. It’s the curse of Medexpress again! @Rosybosy try one of the more personalised prescribers. Someone has already mentioned The Family Chemist and Cloud. Also, Oushk and Pharmulous allow you to talk to a real human rather than a customer care bot.

No, the GP didn't tell me to stop it. They said that the company had contacted them to let them know I was on MJ and did I have any of thw following issues, including gallbladder issues.

The GP told the supplier I didn't have a gallbladder which apparently makes me ineligible for a prescription with that particular company (though most others allow it)

The GP lectured me about not giving them the correct information (basically said I lied to get thw drug) though the question was 'do you have any gallbladder issues' to which I said no because I don't have one??!

The GP then gave me the diet and exercise spiel and suggested I approach the GP instead or join slimming world.

They didn't say I shouldn't take it because I don't have a gallbladder, they just seemed very anti MJ in general so I said that I wouldn't be on it anymore anyway would I as they stopped the scripts.

It's not with most, I just seem to have been unlucky!

Try Numan. I got Mounjaro through them when most providers wouldn't prescribe as I have Crohn's. Very thorough with their questions.
Here's my discount which gives £100 off

Try Oushk, they are very approachable and you can actually speak to a prescriber before placing an order.
