Considering mounjaro but I had awful side effects on saxenda so worried same thing might happen?

Has anyone been in the same position?

I did a few months on saxenda. I lost a stone but felt utterly horrific, anxiety, debilitating fatigue and bad stomach, dioreah. Gave up after I shit myself in primark and basically threw £200 of injections in the bin.

I'm interested in mounjaro but worried about side effects?

What were you eating? That seems to be the major contributor to bad side effects

TribulationPeriwinkle · 10/12/2024 16:54

Yes, me. I had to stop Saxenda because I felt so grim. I initially felt OK on Mounjaro - better than I had on Saxenda - but my insides went berserk around week 4 and I ended up stopping after about 7 weeks.
Depressing, but I can only conclude there’s something about GLP-1s that just doesn’t agree with me.

Whilst I haven’t used Saxenda, I am using Mounjaro. I’ve had very minor side effects and other people I know, also feel fine, most feel very good. Mounjaro is Tirzepatide so may work better for you than Saxenda. Wishing you luck.

I only had a very weak response to saxenda and was nauseous on it, and none on wegovy. MJ I get very mild gastric stuff, no unmanageable urgency or accidents. They are all slightly different, if you can manage it I think it's worth trying MJ as you may tolerate it much better.

I have been fine on mounjaro.

I am now on 12.5 mg. My side effects are that I am really burpy on day one of injections. But that is about it really. Food suppression has been very strong since I got to 10mg. I have to make myself eat some days. I have lost just over 3 stone now.

ViolaPlains · 13/12/2024 18:37

I'm on my 4th 10mg pen and I've had minimal side effects. I've take a Guardiam tablet daily for heartburn, and eat chia seeds every day to avoid constipation. I occasionally feel a bit queasy but nothing debilitating and only occasionally.

I used Saxenda in 2020, and now on MJ, they are worlds apart for me, MJ is much gentler and works more effectively. With Saxenda I had constant sulphur burps and wind, it was disgusting. The kids still talk about my eggy burps!!Blush

Could you give an idea of what you eat OP?
