Feeling nervous about going up to 5mg - did any of you who didn’t get side effects on 2.5 then get them on 5?

As the title says really, I’ve been very lucky so far on 2.5 with no side effects. Due to move up to 5 soon and just wondered if anyone suddenly got them when moving onto 5mg?

Had zero issues on 2.5, I was worried about moving to 5mg but luckily nothing on this either

I was ok on 2.5mg with a few burps and mild constipation sorted with psyllium tablets but OMG the 5mg was horrendous. I only pooped every 3 days, was bloated, nauseous and burping constantly. I could hardly eat and I am sure would have been ill from lack of calories. I'm decided to stop completely as I didn’t like what it was doing to my body. Yes the food noises went away but so did any enjoyment, as I was never able to eat even half of a tiny meal without pain and nausea.
Two weeks later and I am slowly getting my life back. I am enjoying my food on the Fast 800 diet plan. I was consuming far less than 800 calories on MJ, and I can exercise now without nausea and the constipation is much improved. I admire those who stick with it, but it was scary what was going on in my body. that I had no control over.

I've been on MJ for 6 months and only recently had any side effects of diarrhoea three weeks into my first 10mg pen.
Has nothing bad at all before.
I'm dropping back to 7.5 and hoping I don't get a repeat of this.

The manufacturers basically say the optimum dose is the one below the dose you can’t tolerate. So maybe yours is 7.5, or maybe it’s something else and the runs will clear up if you persevere. 10mg is the next therapeutic dose up from the 5, 7.5 is just a stepping stone.

I did 3.75 then 5. Bit of and upset stomach and diarrhea for a few days but nothing too bad and it has settled down. I am on week ten now and staying on 5mg for my next pen (I do 5 shots per pen).

I have lost 1st 10

No major side effects on 2.5, went to 5 after 5x2.5 dose. constipation my only issue i had a few times, but OTT drugs helped each time. been ok so since.
I did 5 x 2.5 and last week was my 10th 5mg, monday i am going to 7.5

LeanneJP · 05/12/2024 20:33

I decided to play it safe in the end and just took 3.75mg, have a big night out on Saturday and didn’t want to risk side effects. If all goes well I’ll move up to 5mg next week

liked M2.5, no problems. On 5 had chronic itching at injection site, plus barely ate. Have been moved back down to 2.5 because it’s effectively an allergic reaction

Are you sure it wasn’t a reaction to the coating on the needle?

Peckhaminn2 · 05/12/2024 22:09

Sadly yes, first 3 weeks on 5mg fine but this last week I've had horrendous stomach cramps and diarrhoea

Ah ok that’s different, as a reaction at the needle site is common for all injections, and is why we need to rotate sites, it’s usually the coating on the needle, or using the same area too much. Rather than an allergic reaction ti the medication itself.

Exactly the same thing happened to me this week!

JC50 · 12/12/2024 11:02

I went up to 5 last week and had bad nausea for a few days then randomly got some lower back discomfort at the end of the week. I had my second dose on Tuesday and frankly I feel awful. Feel constantly nauseous, can barely eat and the lower back discomfort is constant.

I won't be having another dose of 5 that's for sure!

Jabtastic · 12/12/2024 11:50

I quit MJ in the end after one 3.75 dose. It was making me so ill. I feel much better off it than on it. I'll have to find another way of losing 2 stone. It wasn't remotely worth it for me.

Scrimt · 12/12/2024 13:20

It's crazy to me that people are even going on MJ when they have as little as two stone to lose.

If you are short, 5ft or shorter, then 2 stone is enough to make you obese. If you are certain ethnicities then a BMI of 27 or over means you are obese.
