Health anxiety & mounjaro!

Foreverboymumma · 14/11/2024 00:17

I have the worst health anxiety!
I took mounjaro for the first time last Saturday and had a panic attack straight after!
I stayed in bed all day on Sunday, but Monday I was back to my normal self. Now I’m loving how it’s making me feel but in the back of my mind I can’t help but wonder long term issues this could cause.
everybody says to do your research and I have, I know about the side effects but it still doesn’t stop me worrying.
what are your thoughts?

Like all medications it has benefits as well as risks. Will the potential benefits to your health outweigh the possible risks?

Unfortunately no-one can reassure you that you won't experience any side effects or that there won't be long-term consequences that are not yet known (that's true of almost all medications). But keep in mind that obesity has long-term consequences as well.

I also have had anxiety after mounjaro, it's worse after injecting and going up a dose. It did help increasing protein and fluids and electrolytes. My sleep has been terrible on it too but it's helping stabilise my blood sugar and I've lost weight so I'm staying on it. Been on it 7 weeks now, it does get better over time.

Hi guys, I have been on mounjaro for 2 days now and both nights I have been woken up to the feeling I am dying. I get heat throughout my body and a pins and needles feeling from head to toe and in my chest. I am also a very anxious person. Does this sound like a panic attack?

northerneast · 02/04/2025 12:44

Has it actually made you unwell? Sorry it isn’t clear but you say you stayed in bed for 2 days.

Missbux · 02/04/2025 13:35

Sorry, no I am OK through the day. I feel a bit crappy and just a bit spaced out. But Im waking up at midnight with the awful feeling, like I'm dying but it's like a wave of heat and tingling all over my body and then it eases after a few minutes

I’m confused, are you OP posting from another account?

No, she's just posted on this old thread with a similar issue.

Like you, I’m very concerned about side effects. However, I do not want a stroke, heart attack or diabetes (all of which are in my family) through being so overweight, I have to try.
Had my first injection today
