Had three doses of Mounjaro 2.5 so far. Some nausea during the first couple of days of initial dose, but otherwise I've had no side effects.
It's done wonders for my blood sugar control (I'm T2 diabetic), but i'm finding that i've gone off food. I don't fancy things, and so don't bother to eat.
Im on a low carb diet, and i'm worried I wont be getting enough protein and will struggle with muscle wastage.

Anyone else finding it hard to work up the excitement to eat? Is this normal?

Eating protein is good but only exercise will protect your muscles. Please try to eat 3 meals a day with protein and fibre. Even if they’re tiny meals! And jump on a thread for your start month where you’ll get loads of support.

You do need to eat, even if you don’t fancy it. Try and view food as fuel.

I’m three months in now, and started off thinking, this is great, I don’t fancy food so I won’t have it. I’ve had big losses (3 stone so far), but my appetite has just got smaller and smaller, and I’m now having to make a real conscious effort to eat, because I’m starting to worry about muscle loss and other side effects of rapid weight loss. It’s also messed up my digestion as my body doesn’t seem to cope with food very well anymore.

Try and track your calories, I know it’s boring and inconvenient (I avoided doing it for ages) but it’s very easy to skip too far down the low calorie route when MJ is wiping out your appetite.

I’m about to have my 4th dose tomorrow. I’m finding it easier to have brunch and then dinner, than having 3 set meals. If I haven’t reached my calorie goal I’ll have an arla protein yoghurt with a drizzle of honey (200 cals all in) at the end of the day.

This is such good advice and so true about it being easy to slip ever further into calorie deficit

I’m finding that I can’t tolerate ‘recipes’ but single ingredient foods are easier.

so I might have trout and a boiled egg for dinner, fruit and yoghurt, soup, a chicken breast, broccoli, etc

Could you try that?

I have found it settles over time, but 18 weeks in I am still on the lower doses and don't need to increase them to improve control of my blood sugars. It is important you eat to nourish your body even if you don't fancy it.

Try to eat if possible (without making yourself too uncomfortable with side effects) and make every mouthful count,

I have no appetite whatsoever and have to really force myself to eat. When I do eat, I make it as healthy as I can. I’m eating protein at every meal.

I am exercising as much as always and feel fine to do so, so I think I’m still fuelling sufficiently.
