How long can I keep mounjaro before starting it?

Hello! I'm on a waiting list for quite minor surgery but it will involve a general anaesthetic. I hope to be back to work within a week of the surgery.

I want to start mounjaro but I would have to stop a few weeks before the surgery. If I order a pen now and then get a date for my surgery, how long can I keep the pen in the fridge unopened?

Does my question make sense? It could be weeks, it could be months before I have the op but I will have a few weeks notice of the surgery. I would definitely benefit from losing some weight before I undergo a GA and I am trying but failing.

The pen lasts unopened in the fridge up till its expiry date. Check - the expiry date should be written on the pen.

Once opened, it can be in the fridge or anywhere below 30°c and is recommended to discard the pen after 30 days of opening.

It will have an expiry date on it, so will be the end of the MM/YY shown. You can check with your prescriber what date they are currently issuing, as you may have to delay your start.

Thank you. How far into the future is the expiry date likely to be? I got stung buying some supplements, a year long supply, and when they arrived the expiry date was one month after I had bought them!

My first one was a month, but accompanied by a letter saying it was actually six months, the rest are around a year now

First was a 2.5 mg pen and the rest 5 mg. All from ASDA.
