Non-therapeutic dose of MJ

MounjaroUser1233 · 28/10/2024 21:19

Just read that 2.5mg is a non-therapeutic dose of Mounjaro?
I am sure my appetite has been lowered but now wondering if I'm just imagining this?
Has anyone lost weight in the first 4 weeks?
I am using Voy and I think that I won't get an increased dose for almost a month! Thanks x

It just means that in all the trials researching the drug that they didn't keep people on 2.5mg for the duration so there's no indication it's a suitable dose for long term weight loss, on average. Of course some individuals will lose weight at that dose.

@MounjaroUser1233 Many people still lose weight on 2.5mg. It's just not the full concentration of medicine like from 5mg but it doesn't stop it affecting people positively. Some people have even stayed on 2.5mg throughout because it just works enough for them.

If you've had some benefit on it, it's great and you're not imagining it. It's just not advised for people to get their hopes up on it incase it doesn't start working on that dose.

Yes I started loosing weight from the 2.5 dose first week and been consistently loosing since. Still only on 5.0 dose and loosing. Now on month 4 so seems to be enough for me, I tried 7.5 for two weeks and felt awful.

Everyone reacts differently to the jab. I’m in my 4th week and I’ve lost a stone all on 2.5mg, for me the suppression was real.
That said, Ive also read that it’s not a therapeutic dose so many people may not see any effects whilst on it

I stayed on 2.5 for 1 month and lost 13lbs in that time, then 5mg for 2 months (leading to another loss of 27lbs) and noticed in the last 2 weeks I lost nothing and was hungry and less energetic, went up to 7.5 and just finished my first month of that and will be staying on it, in total over 4 months so far I’m down 55lbs
but the 2.5 DEFINITELY worked

KitsyWitsy · 29/10/2024 12:17

Lost a stone on 2.5

Most people experience appetite suppression on the lower doses. It doesn't mean it's not working. It just means you have to build up to the higher doses slowly. You'll get horrible stomach side effects if you try to go higher too quickly.

Thank you everyone! 😊
Glad it's probably not just in my head!! Maybe I won't need the 5mg?! Or will your body get used to the 2.5?

Yes Your body will probably get used to the lower dose and you'll probably want to increase but you don't have to if it's working well, or you can increase at a slower rate

Thank you @TheSilkWorm x
