Anyone else fed up of medexpress?!

Oh my god! The spamming! I know discounts really help but they've turned posters into little spammer ants that you can't get rid of. The constant new threads spamming codes in the guise of sharing their MJ journey are the worst. I've learnt to skim to the end first before I take a new thread at face value because I've been deceived one too many times thinking I'm reading a genuine OP before I get to the last part.

It's not just here either, on Facebook too. Just boldly spamming irrelevant codes as comments. 😳

Yes! I find referral schemes off putting in general, and I find them especially repugnant when they're used for medical prescriptions!

Personally I will never use a pharmacy that engages in such practices. I would rather pay more elsewhere.

KrankyKumquat · 22/10/2024 11:14

Yep, I left Medexpress after my 2nd order as I just wasn't comfortable with their 'model' although had no complaints about the actual service I received from them. I decided it was in my power to choose a prescriber based on their ethics! And i wouldn't countenance a pyramid selling purchase in any other aspect of my life, so definitely not in health care. No regrets.

ThornVampire · 22/10/2024 11:20

I agree - I have a code, and add to single threads.

I hate it when you see them added to posts where the OP has already ordered from ME

WorriedRelative · 22/10/2024 11:23

Yes it drives me mad too, seems to have shifted from voy to med express but I think it is utterly unethical and won't use suppliers that do this kind of thing.

Keep reporting when you see them.

PickleSarnie · 22/10/2024 11:35

It's what made me discount medexpress and go with Oushk instead. Doesn't sit well with me trying to sign up others to a prescription medication.

Oushk does, from what I can tell, fairly frequent discounts but no referral codes.

Orangesandlemons77 · 22/10/2024 12:40

I think it seems to have impacted on their service as they have a warning when you try and order now on their website that it could take 'up to 4 days' I used Simple online pharmacy and they were really good, maybe it is worth paying for a better service. heard good things about Oushk as well.

It was similar with voy too. People spamming codes everywhere and telling everyone to use them and then the complaints about delays and warm pens started.

Then they changed the discount code policy and suddenly you hardly hear of them.

If people keep selecting on price alone they will experience rock bottom service to match the prices.

WeAllHaveWings · 22/10/2024 13:18

Newer posters in the forum, quite reasonably if new, won't know the referral code rules that they cannot post referral codes on threads or create their own threads with them.

All you can do is just keep tell them and reporting the posts/threads.

DontJustBetOnMe · 22/10/2024 13:37

Registering for the first time on a website/forum just to spam your discount code is pretty bad practice in general no matter how we look at it. That they don't know where to specifically spam their code is not really a reasonable excuse for new posters.

I find it really annoying as well.

especially people replying to many threads to to say ‘I have a code if you want me to dm you’.

I do think it’s unethical. And while I am not that fussed what other people think of me taking MJ, I can see why when people (not taking this medication) see that and believe it’s not being taken seriously as a medication.

its a serious medication to actually help people. I also think this sort of marketing leads people who only have 10lbs to lose, to believe it’s ’not That serious’ so they feel comfortable lying to get it.

It’s unethical. And social media is full of people creating content purely to get other people to use their code. The content is usually around how great it is, without mentioning the side effects or downsides. It’s really shitty.

Although more recently on TikTok a lot of creators are talking more honestly about the medication, side effects and the effort it takes and won’t share codes or allow people to share codes in their comments. I think they have realised it’s a bad look.

Med express seem to be having lots of troubles with their customers and service lately. I'm not surprised given their mode of operation with the referral codes drawing everyone and their mum to them in droves, and ridiculously low price including free pens (how can it be that low and they make a profit?). They've started refusing some already offered services based on spurious reasons, probably to recoup/save money.

One of their letters to a customer that I've seen on the Reddit was quite odd - asking a customer to confirm if they'd ordered with them before as though they don't have a record of their customers.

They have changed a lot of things in recent weeks, going from doubling the difference in their price match, to changing that to the difference plus £5, then changing the providers they will price match with.

Papiane · 16/12/2024 17:54

Yes it’s blatant, and annoying. Most of the posters are not “new” , they are selfish and they know they are breaking the rules for their pathetic £40 advantage. Once I’ve clicked on a thread, before realising this, of course that’s a waste of my bluddy time. Name and shame!

😳 PS I’ve looked at a couple of Facebook groups for Mounjara- and they specifically ban the advertisement of these wretched “coupons”.

financialcareerstuff · 16/12/2024 18:36

I'm using Mounjaro with MedExpress, I was not impressed today. I'd ordered 5mg for the second month in a row, because I'm satisfied with the level. I got a note telling me it was recommended to titrate all the way to 15mg if I wasn't suffering bad symptoms.

That is untrue, which I told them. It's totally fine to maintain on five or any level up to a MAX of 15. So this was a proactive reach out to ask me to increase my dose and give me false information. I don't know they would make more money that way in the long term, so maybe just incompetence? But was Not impressed.

I think they are incompetent, they are also adamant you can only use mounjaro for two years, when it’s approved and licensed for life, and insisting the medical guidance is two years, when that’s wegovy. Even when pointing it out, they simply send a condescending email,

im also leaving them. Got a discount waiting, will use that and then move.

IReallyNeedThisToWork · 17/12/2024 10:04

The MJ subs on Reddit are full of people complaining about MedEx and one of the subs has put out a ‘community warning’ about their behaviour!

Moirarosesgarden · 17/12/2024 10:41

I’m with Medexpress and the service is getting slower. I’m on the high test does of Wegovy but bmi is now 27. Can I swap providers or do I need to stick?
