It’s arrived. What’s stopping me??

My order of Mounjaro arrived today but so far haven’t dared inject it. Need a hand hold!

Do it! My only regret is not starting it sooner.

Do you know what it is that's bothering you?

I'm about 15 weeks in so I've done 14 injections so far, but I had to read the instructions so many times at the start. Once I'd done it, I wondered what on earth I'd been worried about!

Workingmum34 · 16/10/2024 20:44

No idea. Probably being silly. No one knows. My husband would say “just go for a run” but after getting to 15 stone it’s not that easy any more.

I'd just get all the things out that you need for the injection, put them out in front of you and then just follow the instructions step by step. It feels like a bigger deal than it actually is. Remember why you wanted to start this in the first place and take that next step.

Is it the fact that they are new drugs and the long term effects are unknown? I know that's what's stopping a friend of mine.

If you believed that, it would stop you ordering it in the first place and spending £100 plus on it. Never mind the fact that it's not true either. These medicines have been researched and tested, there are no long term negative effects identified from the thousands of people who have used them to date.

ludicrouslycapaciousbags · 16/10/2024 20:59

I have lost 3 stone in a short amount of time on it. That's what I needed to lose, I was not highly obese but overweight for my height.

I have exercised also and changed my relationship with food completely.

It is an absolute no brainer for me, and you can see on here how it's working for so many people.

girljulian · 16/10/2024 21:01

What is stopping you? I took it for three months, lost my excess weight, job done. It’s great.

Workingmum34 · 16/10/2024 21:15

Right. Im off to get a grip. Thanks!

Definitely give it a go op. I was worried but reasoned if it disagreed with me I could just not take any other doses.

But it's been great. No side effects other than over a 2 stone weight loss in just over 2 months. I agree that the only thing I regret is not doing it sooner.

UtterlyOtterly · 16/10/2024 21:46

SilenceInside I would hope they are properly researched. I think she read something to the contrary after ordering.

I will tell her from you it is safe 🙂

Iudncuewbccgrcb · 16/10/2024 21:51

Mine arrived today too and I took the first dose 15 mins ago. It was fine, I was expecting a bit of a sting when I injected it but it doesn't

Squirrellover · 16/10/2024 22:03

I started a week ago. The injection does not hurt at all. I have been amazed at how the food noise has disappeared. It's like being a normal person instead of eating anything not nailed down!

Workingmum34 · 16/10/2024 22:06

Done Thanks for the support everyone. It was no where near what I was worried about! Fingers crossed about side effects. Currently hidden in the fridge.

Yay, well done.. you say currently hidden in the fridge? . If you are hiding it for any reason.. .. you don't need to keep in the fridge, once you take your first dose you can keep it anywhere, mine is in my chest of drawers in bedroom..

KelmenaBallerina · 17/10/2024 20:21

I was the same as you. It sat in the fridge for a week. I was more worried incase I got any severe side effects. I did my first injection this afternoon. So far so good! 😊

Does it not have to be in the fridge?? Thought it had to be there?

OP posts:
SilenceInside · 17/10/2024 22:28

It only has to be in the fridge before you start using it, for longer-term storage unopened. Once you have done the first injection, you have 30 days to use the pen and it can be kept in the fridge or stored at room temperature (as long as it doesn't get over 30 degrees which in the UK in the winter should be fine!).
