Mounjaro newbie help and Boots rant

Hi all,

I have finally bitten the bullet and collected my first prescription from Boots this evening

I got home and realized that Boots gave me nothing other than the pen, no needles, no sharps box, wipes - considering how (I now realize) they are one of the most expensive out there I'm a bit dissapointed
I did a quick google and see this seems fairly common that Boots give nothing upon collection.

I won't have the time to go back again - this literally took all evening as Boots is no where near where I live and I'm on late shifts again now for rest of month so am just doing some research to order some.

So I wanted to ask someone who may know - will these needles fit? - I have a Kwik Pen

Also - I asked them for a copy of my prescription as I intend to swap to a cheaper chemist and they refused to give me a copy of my own prescription and said i could photo it lol

I believe those needles look like the same ones I’ve purchased for my pen. Maybe someone else knows for sure, or I can confirm in a bit if they’re the ones I have…

You shouldn’t need your prescription from them if you want to switch. Save the box, it should have a sticker on with your information on it. Take a picture of that and use that when you contact a new prescriber (you will also need other information and pictures, assuming it’s an online prescriber)

OP sorry about your hassle. So glad you posted as I am looking to start Mounjaro and I have just crossed Boots off my list!

I had the same problem the first time I collected from Boots - just a pen, no needles, no sharps bin. Now every collection since they've given me another sharps bin (I don't need so many!), and on one collection they gave me someone else's inhaler in the bag with my pen. Not great!

Med express are £135 per month (my co worker is on this at the minute) and boots was £219 i feel so ripped off

OP this is so common for Boots. They are so expensive you would expect gold star service. I would switch suppliers, there are many great ones out there and lots of threads on here discussing the pros and cons of them all. I personally use Oushk, they are around £140 a month, and the thing I like best is that I can choose the delivery date to make sure it's a day I'm at home.

Que accusatory tone - 'Well you sent someone else in to collect'..............erm no i didn't - but what's your point?

'We couldn't give you this stuff because we do not have it in stock' .............I would have appreciated being told this at the counter, but nevertheless, this doesn't sound like a me problem.
