GP taking over prescription

I discussed taking Mounjaro with the GP last week, as I was on metformin (for weight not diabetes, I'm not diabetic). Anyway I mentioned that I was starting Mounjaro and they were supportive. Said it would be much better than the metformin for weight loss.

I mentioned the cost, and they said come back to them if it becomes too expensive. I said I would, I was wondering had anyone had the GP take over the prescription, just for weight not for diabetes?

I do have some other meds which cause weight gain and we have tried stopping them but that didn't work, so I would be pleased if mounjaro might help.
