Starting Mounjaro same week as a holiday

I have placed my 1st order for Mounjaro. Should be with me Tuesday. I am going on holiday on Saturday. Is this a bad week to start the medication?
I am so excited to get started and don't want to waste a minute but I also want to enjoy my holiday and have fun with my kids.
Our holidays always involve eating out lots and plenty of cocktails 🙈 (hence the weight gain)
How many of you had significant side effects on the 1st week?
We are going away again for Halloween, so hoping for at least 7lbs off for that. Any more would be an absolute bonus!!

I would wait until you’re back. I have been fine but my husband had over a week of really bad diarrhoea when he first took it. You just don’t know how you’ll react but he wouldn’t have wanted to be too far from a toilet over that time!

id wait til you are back, I was on wegovy and the heartburn and nausea i had would have really ruined a holiday

I'd echo what pp have said. You never know how you'll react and I couldn't think of anything worse than being ill on holiday.

I think you are right. I won't take the chance.
And hopefully by the time we go away at Halloween, the side effects will have settled and I might see some results.

Out of interest - how have you and your husband got on? If you don't mind me asking x

I would wait - I had D&V the first two doses I took. I skipped a week while on my holiday so I could enjoy myself and not be worried about pooping myself on the plane!

Loving it! Just taking 3rd injection tonight so really new in the journey but he’s lost 10lbs and I’ve lost 7. I am a self confessed food addict and I can’t believe the difference it’s made… I just don’t think about food in the same way that I used to. Im not reaching for the fridge all the time like I used to. It feels really liberating!

Absolutely delay it. One week will make little difference to your weight loss, but one dose could easily ruin your holiday. Week 12 here and I suffer daily with horrible side effect. First dose put me off food and drink.
