Gastric Sleeve & Mounjaro

I had a failed gastric sleeve 11 years ago and I placed my first order with Medexpress last month, I've just gone to order it and they have refused my prescription as my GP has informed them I previously had the sleeve. Has anyone else successfully ordered Mounjaro from another provider when they've also had a sleeve? I had a gastric band removed and had revision surgery to the sleeve but they couldn't do it properly due to the damage caused by the band, it had corroded my oesophagus. I've lost over a stone in a month on Mounjaro and I desperately want to keep taking it.

I am pretty sure I have seen several posters who have been prescribed MJ with some form of gastric surgery. Someone will be along to help 😁

With your history of corrosion of your esophagus, revision surgery, and the way MJ dual action works (GLP-1 and GIP) it could overwhelm and be risky for your compromised GI system. Other single action GLP-1 agonists might be more suitable.

Your history likely means you need a doctor to balance the risks and benefits, perhaps supervision and support while taking any GLP-1 medication.

Can you speak to your GP and perhaps ask for a referral to a specialist who can assess your suitability to use these. You risk doing yourself harm if you do not approach with caution and the correct medical advice.

I have had a lot of bowel surgery including several small bowel obstructions (not weight loss surgery) and the have been Ok with me getting it. GP knows as well.

I ordered from Voy.

Thanks @Herewegoagainandagainandagain my GP is supportive of it and knows I am taking it. I've ordered via Asda now and they didn't ask the question so hopefully won't be a problem 🤞

I had a sleeve in 2019 that took me from 21 st to 15 st and there I have stuck. I heat really healthily. I cook from scratch. I eat absolutely NO processed foods, not even a literal sausage. .. and yet .. not a pound did I lose. My average calorie intake would have been about 1200-1500 and I do resistance work at the gym 4 days a week. I also have a phenomenally under active thyroid and take (exceptionally - and under an endocrinologist supervision) 250mg of thyroxine.. but to loose a Ib I need to eat under 1000 calories.

Mountjaro has enabled me to do this and now after two months I am 12 st 3 !!

@AboutVattime well done on your weight loss that's amazing! I struggle to lose weight due to PCOS but in the last 5 weeks I've lost 1st 3.5lbs which I'm delighted with. I managed to order MJ through Asda but I've just used the bonus 2.5mg and I'll start the 5mg next week. I'm hoping slow and steady wins the race and I get healthy again. Good luck in your journey xx
