How much did you lose in your first 6 weeks please?

I know everyone is different but I've got an event in 6 weeks so would like a rough idea

I've lost 19 pounds in 6 weeks. I think I'm one of those whole is quite sensitive to it though, as I've stayed on 2.5mg. Moving up to 5mg for the third pen. The weight loss was considerable in the first few weeks so I think a lot of it was inflammation and water weight, its now a steady 1-2 pounds a week now though.

SensibleSigma · 18/09/2024 15:57

When you say prescribed, are you paying for it or getting it through the GP?

I’m wondering about it.

It's a private prescription when you buy it online.

I know it was pathetic 😂 I’m now down nearly 20 pounds after 5.5 months though.

Sorry I didn't mean to diminish your achievement!

You've done fantastic overall!

It will depend on how much you eat and how much you have to lose. If you eat in calorie deficit then you should lose weight quickly. I lost nearly a stone in 6 weeks.

I started at BMI just under 30 (I have pre diabetes) and have lost 21lbs exactly in 8 weeks, I'm not too far from my goal weight and could maybe lose another 7-10 lbs. my BMI is now 25.8.

jefl011 · 18/09/2024 18:45

I started at bmi 32 and after 2 months I have lost 2 stone 1lb. Not anywhere near as much as some people but I am tall and had been desperately trying to lose weight for months before starting mounjaro.

Mossyeyes · 18/09/2024 18:55

I responded quickly to the meds. I was cold, tired and completely off food to the point where I really had to focus on eating nutritious foods. In the first 6 weeks I lost 1st 5lbs.

Side effects have now settled and I've lost 3st 7lbs in 5 months.

inneedofaglowup · 18/09/2024 19:03

I'm contemplating getting mounjaro. My BMI is 33.6.

Stickthatupyourdojo · 18/09/2024 19:05

I started at bmi of 30.7. In 6 weeks I lost a stone exactly.

Arielsmummy · 18/09/2024 19:06

Everyone's loss is different. Please don't compare or have expectation because of others results. I'm saying this, as I did, I was you. Thought everyone is loosing loads and I didn't, first 4 weeks on 2.5mg I lost 4lb. I was so disheartened. Been on 5mg for 3 weeks now and lost 11lb on that so 15 in total. Some people take a higher dose for results. Good luck

Lookingforaneedleinanhaystack · 18/09/2024 19:11

Started 16st9 now down to 13st9
Been on it since April alongside fasting.
First six weeks about a stone I think.
It isn't magic though you have to use it as a helpful tool alongside everything else.

Ellepff · 19/09/2024 02:55

I lost 10 pounds in 6 weeks, and even with a week off due to being sick, things are staying steady (i.e. as my appetite returns it’s returning to my semaglutide portions).

I try really hard to eat wfpb, but a bit of cheese sneaks in, or regular milk in tea visiting someone. This was my goal before and now I can actually do it. I’ve had a sweet here and there but not 6.

Yes. I lost 5kg in the first month, hardly anything since then, another month. I must be eating well enough to not be obese, but still too much so I'm still overweight.

mimosa1 · 19/09/2024 06:57

I've lost 3 kg in 3 days and bmi was just above 30 - largely due to d&v in day 3 though!
