Very scary incident this morning

So I took my 3rd injection yesterday. As with previous weeks I have been eating lots of protein, think shakes, yogurts, etc, dinners have been chicken and veg with small jacket potato, or casserole etc, then slightly more adventurous at weekends so stir fries, fajitas that kind of thing.

I had chicken casserole last night with a small jacket potato. I woke up at 2am for the loo, fine. I woke again at 5.30am with stomach cramps, went to the loo and all of a sudden my skin was burning, I was pouring with sweat and shaking. I had a mixture of bowel movements, some solid some pure water. I couldn't move. And then my hands started vibrating, not shaking, actually vibrating so hard my DH could feel it.

I also felt like i wanted to vomit but didn't. I ended up back on the toilet several times and then went back to bed. I now feel exhausted, achey and very weak like my legs aren't working and my upper stomach feels full and bloated.

I have managed to eat one protein bagel thin and a cup of tea.

I should add I take digestive enzymes and probiotics.

Should I be concerned??

Goodness that is scary, hope you're feeling better now? Stop them and talk to your GP

Rigors or shaking and chills with diarrhoea are known side effects. I hope you're feeling better, can you speak to your Gp?

Sugarsugarahhoneyhoney · 22/08/2024 12:37

Go to your GP and ask for a blood test, do not take anymore of that stuff either.

ClimbingMounjaro · 22/08/2024 13:19

Sorry I should have said it's Mounjaro so a weekly injection, so I wouldn't be taking any more until next Wednesday.

If I still feel rough tomorrow I'll contact GP

Is taking the digestive enzymes and probiotics new?

Digestive enzymes or new probiotics can also cause GI side effects, combined with MJ it might just be too much going on.

NewLifter · 25/08/2024 12:19

This sounds terrifying. Personally I would stop the treatment and see the GP. I can't believe you didn't attend A&E tbh 😭

It turned out to be covid! I was pretty much bed ridden for 5 days.

Took my weekly injection yesterday and fine today, usual mild side effects but nothing untoward!

Thanks for updating the thread. Glad you're feeling better.

Covid sounds horrible, but at least you know you can carry on with the injections.
