When to move to 7.5mg mounjaro

I've been on 5mg for 3 months and it seems to be working ok, but I have definitely felt more of an appetite this month.

Over 20 weeks I have lost an average of 2.6lbs a week

When do others feel you need to move from 5mg to 7.5mg ?

Thanks

Hard to say really as everyone's experiences and reactions are so different.

Somebody I watched on TikTok said, in hindsight, she wouldn't have moved up a dose until she had 'exhausted' the one she was on. I think she meant that the dose should have to be doing NOTHING to make her move up.

I’m not sure though. I think if I was hungry a lot or thinking about food a lot or not losing any weight, I would want to increase. I’ve just received my second 5 and if things continue the way they are, I can see me getting a third too!

2.6 lbs a week is a fantastic rate. I second the above response- do not move up until the dose you’re on no longer does its job (I think they said like 3-4 weeks of NO losses is considered an exhausted dose).

Feeling some hunger, having some appetite is what you want. You want to be supported by the MJ and you want it to make things easier, but you don’t want it to be a crutch - exercise that muscle now of reading your body’s hunger cues, learning/knowing when to eat, what to eat, how much to eat. You’re essentially preparing yourself and your body for when you reach your goal and go into maintenance mode.
