Scared of first jab

Ordered my first pen but worried I won't dare stick it in!

youve wasted your money then haven't you! get someone else to do it although it really is nothing!

perhaps a bit of research first would have helped

Soberfutures · 10/08/2024 11:37

That's a harsh reply. 😳 I did my first last night and it was totally fine. I was worried but didn't feel a thing. The needle is so fine it isn't a problem. It's more a thought about what it will feel like. Find a chunky stomach part to inject.

We have all been there to varying extents. Took me 3 days to pluck up courage, then nearly an hour to stab myself. Honestly it isn't that bad.

At the end of the hour I froze my stomach with a tub of ice cream, pinched an inch, lined it up, looked away and just stuck it in. Once it is in and you realise you can't feel it you can take a few seconds to calm down before slowly pushing the plunger down, count to 10 then remove.

Good luck, the first time is the worst.

ChaChaChooey · 10/08/2024 12:40

I was a bit apprehensive too but I watched a YouTube video showing how to do it and the needle is so tiny that I barely felt it at all.

Was a bit on an anti climax!

Emeraldpies · 10/08/2024 12:49

The only time I've felt it is when I injected into my thigh. I stick to my stomach since and don't feel anything.

Snozzlemaid · 10/08/2024 12:49

I was so excited when I made my first order, after deliberating for ages over whether or not to buy.
But then when I got the pen I was also scared to start.
I'm sure everyone on here will confirm it's so much easier than what you imagine.
You honestly don't feel the needle, I just feel the pen when it touches my skin.
You can do it, I promise.
Good luck.

It’s literally a non event. I’m
on 7.5mg and still haven’t had any obvious side effects. The needle is very thin, barely feel it

BabygirlTom · 10/08/2024 12:52

It's very easy, you barely even feel anything.

OlympicsFanGirl · 10/08/2024 12:59

It doesn't hurt at all. It's tiny. Not like a vaccination.

usernother · 10/08/2024 13:02

What are you worried about exactly?

Umbrellamaybeneeded · 10/08/2024 13:06

I've never taken weight loss medication but had to inject myself a lot in my 20s. I was also a nurse. I still didn't know if I could inject myself. It took me a while to get into it. It's a very small needle so won't be that painful, the thought is usually worse than the actual process of doing it.
You could try giving yourself a window of time to do it with something planned after so that it forces you not to procrastinate (I had a patient who did this).

mm81736 · 10/08/2024 11:39

Idiot!

thanks... ive been using the injections since october last year and using the pens is nothing! they are nothing like a proper injection like the type you would have in hospital, they are more like an epipen and its all done automaticlly... as i said research would have told you all of this....

Offcom · 10/08/2024 17:14

Was also scared, and why wouldn’t it be scary to stab something sharp into yourself?

But honestly, it’s such a miraculous tiny little thing, really a feat of ingenuity. Pretty sure someone could’ve jabbed me with it and I wouldn’t have felt it.

You can do it!

EricCatman · 10/08/2024 17:18

The needle is tiny and gossamer thin. You don’t ‘stab’ as someone upthread said, but gently and easily push it in. I honestly don’t even feel it.

Mammma91 · 10/08/2024 17:44

I feel for you - I hate needles too! Is there anyone who could do it for you?

mm81736 · 10/08/2024 21:00

Well I have done it, and didn't feel thing.

Well done 😃

NewLifter · 11/08/2024 07:18

Yeh, well done! I hope it works well for you.

SevernWonders · 11/08/2024 11:52

Well done - this is the start of your journey!

mm81736 · 11/08/2024 12:08

I don't think I feel any different 🤔

Well done OP!

bouncybouncingboobies · 11/08/2024 12:19

It’s not the needle you need to worry about but the side effects! On week 6 here.

Snozzlemaid · 11/08/2024 12:22

Week 10 here and no bad side effects, so you may not get any either OP.
Not everyone responds to the 2.5 dose, so don't lose faith yet. Trust in it and you'll get there.

fdsgfd · 11/08/2024 12:45

Ordered it from where?

I wouldn't suggest injecting anything you've "ordered"

You should only be injecting medicine prescribed by a doctor!
