Anyone concerned about future Mounjaro shortages?

I should receive my medication to start tomorrow.
This drug is only going to increase in popularity over the coming weeks / months.
Which has left me a bit concerned regarding shortages (I keep hearing about an Ozempic shortage in the news.. and I was looking to start Wegovy before Mounjaro came along and there were shortages of Wegovy back then)
I don't want it to be January and then having spent a grand cannot get a pen for a few months due to a shortage.
Maybe it would be an idea to stock up for a few months in December.
Anyone else worried?

Yes, just had the same thought. I tried ozempic last year then had to stop when stocks ran out so price almost trebled.
I might get some more mounjaro in to have ready as needed but of course stockpiling creates shortages too.

Stocking up, if everyone else does, will result in restrictions (if any are needed) being implemented sooner!

Of course it's a possibility, but at the moment there is no evidence that this is likely to happen with Mounjaro.

Surely, you'd be creating the problem by stock piling and encouraging others to do so?

Honestly, no. I’m not worried. I just received my first dose today.

I do agree that stockpiling will make it worse. Just order what you need. I’m sure with the range of pharmacies you can go to, you’ll be able to get your next dose. It just might not be the cheapest price perhaps?

for me, I think the goal is to just take it until I lose the weight. For me, that’s losing around 15-20kg. I feel that based on my age (20s) and activity level (I used to run and often go gym), I should be able to achieve that then sustain it once I sort out the mental health side of things. I’ve been slim my entire life and only obese BMI in the last year. So for me, I don’t intend to be on it long term, which is probably why I’m not worried about shortages. In my head, I’m hoping around 3-6 months.

Not worried, being realistic, while it is a life changing medication, for most people if stocks do run low/out and cause delays > 2 weeks the impact will only be a delay in weight loss and for a lot of us that weight issue has been there for years and years, another few weeks in the grand scheme of things is not too significant.

It will be very disappointing, but not something I overly worry about.
