Why is the Mounjaro pen so shit?

Hey all,

I much preferred the Wegovy/Ozempic pens.

The dial on the MJ pen is like something off of Blue Peter. It's just a strip of paper. And I find the plunger really stiff. I'm sure the awkward way I have to push it in, almost with both hands, is causing my bruising at the injection site to be worse.

Anyone agree? Do they have plans to introduce a nice clean "push the button" type pen?

You could withdraw it into an insulin needle and inject that if that is easier? A lot of people use that to get the bonus 5th dose out

Thanks Severn. Good point, I do that to get the 5th dose.

I can't compare as this is the first pen I've used but you're right, it's very awkward and does require a lot of force to push the plunger all the way. I try to hold the pen and push down with my index figure but invariably have to use 2nd hand. The Americans seem to have single dose pens which work better - I think our difficulty stems from having a 4 dose pen (which has some advantages for dosing) - but do think a different design could be figured out.

I don't find it to be a problem at all. I pinch some fat in one hand, use the other hand to hold the pen and use my thumb to press the plunger down.
