So many Munjaro questions - anyone around?

Hi All

I started towards end of June at 16st 2lb

I did three weeks at 2.5mg. I couldn't get the pen to work on the fourth week so injected 5mg instead. On that day I was 15st 2 and thrilled!

Two weeks later and I'm 15st 1 - so progress has really tailed off. I'm fine with this - I lost so much so quickly that perhaps my body needs to readjust - but has this happened to anyone else?

Also (sorry) side effects have been a killer for about 36/48 hours after injecting. It's sort of like being pregnant or having Covid - headache/nausea/diarrhoea/ knackered.

On the plus side my PCOS has miraculously abated. I'm 48 and usually bleed every two weeks - but I've had nothing at all since I started munjaro. And my skin is great. And I feel really well - apart from that day or so after injecting.

Anyway - any tips or experiences. I haven't told any friends or family and it's weird not sharing this.

Hi everyone

realise this an old post so not sure if it’s still active. I am wanting to start M to lose around a stone. I know this doesn’t seem like a great deal of weight but it is the last of my baby weight that I can not get off. I am constantly hungry and thinking about food and just want this to stop. I do not want to lose the jab for a prolonged period just to get the weight off initially and then hopefully I will be able to maintain it. I am an active person who does a lot of exercise. I know I could get this stone of weight off if I dieted very strictly but I would it difficult. I wanted to ask for this aim are the side effects worth it? I am not obese but I have a medical contact who will prescribe it for me

You still have to diet strictly on MJ. Why not ask your 'medical contact' for advice?

Honestly, this is crazy though, how can someone just prescribe it to you! No decent medic would.

I started on the 2.5mg and over the last 8.5 months I have gone up every 2 months and am now on 12.5. Today marked my 4 stone loss. 13 stone 12 to 9 stone 12. Not a single side effect.

I’m happy to diet I would just like to be able to without having the constant thoughts about food and it controlling my life! Lots of people who are not obese have taken it and people who get to be not obese from it continue so I don’t really see a difference. A friend will prescribe it for me.

Thank you - how much did you lose in the first 4 weeks? I really only want to try it short term but does the 2.5 do anything or is that just getting your body used to it!

I used 2.5mg for 13 weeks and lost 28lb.

I then went up by only half a dose and am continuing to lose weight on that.

2.5mg can be very effective. I’ve had very few side effects. A little bit of diarrhoea on day 2 after my first job, and the odd bout of D&V if I’ve eaten something particularly high in fat, or a bit too much close to bed time.

Believe me, I totally understand that, I ended up putting on 3 stone once I hit 40. Its bloody miserable but now I am BMI 22.9 and can be prescribed it for a fair amount of weightloss more so it seems unfair. I was BMI 28 to start with but have a medical condition that meant I could be prescribed it.

Its just really concerning that medics are prescribing against guidelines, where would they draw the line. I dont necessarily disagree that people should be able to take it as long as they are overweight, not even obese, as even half a stone extra weight can put pressure on joints but it should be regulated thats all otherwise it can be so dangerous. I was speaking to a friend whose cousin was a BMI of 20 when she started taking it, she ended up in hospital. A friend got it for her. Its not even hard to do, I bought a stock when I had some discount codes but still buy 1 pen a month.

Hi yes I do agree, there are definitely ways that people can get hold of it quite easily if you’re willing to pay! I think for me and I will be honest it is absolutely nothing to do with my health -I am healthy and I exercise and watch what I eat. I have just found that since having my son the dieting is so much harder for me and when I have done it it’s become all consuming. I kind of see the jab as a way to diet without it having to consume me, maybe I am wrong? It’s sad really because I know that I am okay the way I am but I just can’t be happy with it. I am also mindful that if the risks are too high it’s now something I would do which is why I’m trying to find out as much information as I can I guess. Also can I ask did your friend end up in hospital because she just became too underweight or was it due to a complication with the medication?

Edited

She became too underweight, to lose weight at the weight she started at she had to consume so few calories so along with losing weight she didnt need to she was not getting any nutrients.

It is definitely a way to diet without it consuming you, I am so close to my target weight that I am now losing slowly but I dont feel like I'll slip up at all. I still feel full quickly and dont really think about food at all.

I’ve checked my diary and it went like this.
week 1 - 3lbs
week 2 - 2 lbs
week 3 - 3lbs
week 4 - 1lb
