To take or not to take?

Hello everyone.

I am 28, 5ft 7 and 13st 5lbs.

I have put on a lot of unhealthy fat (mainly around my stomach, back and hips). I have tried dieting, but I am just not disciplined enough.

I have been considering trying wygovy or similar weight loss injections. My concern is fertility (we would like to start a family in the next couple of years) and also long term effects (cancer, diseases etc).

I think the results are amazing, but worry that there is not enough research out there to prove that these are a good option for weight loss.

Any advice?

Thank you

With your height and weight you are below BMI 30 so might not be prescribed it.

You should speak to your prescriber or GP about your valid concerns over fertility or cancer risks. These drugs are designed for those who are obese or severely obese and the very real risks and impact on quality of life from obesity outweigh the risks from the drug.

I personally wouldn't take them in your circumstances.

I would not have taken it if I was planning more children. Nothing concrete….The drug is just too new and I don’t trust big pharma.

i did it because I was totally desperate and have so much to lose.
I’m averaging about fairly lame pound a week so hardly setting the world alight as it 4-5lbs per month
