Mounjaro / endometriosis / short cycles

Have been taking mounjaro for the last 5 weeks.

I have endometriosis and am not in dreadful pain with it but do get some dull back and abdominal pain during the months. I’ve also had very short 23 day cycles for the last 18 months.

the first month I took it my cycle was 29
days. I am currently on day 25 so it is seeming like this month going to be a longer cycle as well.

also very little endo pain - noticeably reduced.

has anyone else had anything like this.

dont think they know what causes endo but making me think it could be to
do with blood sugar levels or something - who knows.

I have deeply infiltrating endo, and have needed many surgeries for it. Most have no how horrific the pain can be, my heart goes out to you.

I've been on morphine od one form or another for over 15 years. Well I had the most enormous bonus, and I managed to titrate my meds down over 3 months and am now completely morphine free!!

MJ has worked wonders for my health, not just my weight, and I will take it for as long as I possibly can.

Good luck to you. 💐

Wow that is amazing!

I am so surprised that it has helped - wasn’t expecting that at all.

It's an inflammatory autoimmune disease, and MJ seems to work wonders on just such conditions. It's also made a big difference to my fibromyalgia and arthritis. As a bonus I'm now also reducing my antidepressants.

Hi, I too have endometriosis and adenomyosis with debilitating symptoms including pain, fatigue and heavy bleeding. I’ve been on MJ for nearly 8 months and have only now considered that it could be the reason why my symptoms have improved significantly. I haven’t had a significant flare since although I still experience the fatigue. I stopped having periods 7-8 months ago so I had thought the improvement was related to perimenopause with me approaching menopause (once I have t had a period for 1 year). I now look back and realise the timing is related to when I started MJ 8 months ago.

This is why I did a google search to see if anyone else had improved endo with MJ.

So I’m not really sure but would be reluctant to stop MJ and go back to how it used to be. I’m now nearly within my target weight range so am working towards maintaining my weight.

OMG!! I have been searching the internet for women who are sharing this information and I just read your posts with total glee. I have also got endometriosis and adenomyosis with flare ups so intense I can't get through the day without taking a lot of pain relief. This is my first month on Mounjaro and I have never had an endo pain free month since I was 17 years old, and I have just completed my menstrual cycle and my pain has reduced significantly. I know it's still early days as I am still only a month in and I don't want to speak too soon, but I cannot believe it. I was trying to research why this might be the case and I read that Mounjaro helps to reduce inflammation of some major organs. Anyway I just wanted to say hi to all my fellow endo/mj buddies, as now I have found that there are others experiencing the same positive effects as me and it can't possibly be anything else as I have had this all my adult life and I am in 40's now.

Hello @Freethought1
Thanks for sharing your experience😊It’s good to hear your symptoms have improved after one month of taking MJ. How are you getting on now you’ve been taking MJ for a bit longer?

I’ve recently had my first ever pain free period (ever! And I started my period when I was 10). No pre period pain, no cramps, no intense debilitating fatigue. It’s really looking to be the MJ rather than perimenopause because for the last 3 years I had such bad symptoms I had to stop working.
I now have energy and a life!

I hope you all are seeing continued improvement. Enjoy your weekend😍

Hi all, just wanted to add that my weight gain was related to endometriosis treatment. I gained 20kg in 8 months on Provera and had breakthrough bleeding for the whole time. I stopped it when I was admitted for surgery. I first started hormone treatments when I was 12 and always gained weight on progesterone treatments over the years. I would then stop due to adverse effects of the treatment and then lose the weight (in the past through exercise and diet only) so I’ve usually been size 8-10 in between treatments and still needed morphine for pain. The symptom improvement I’m experiencing is definitely not related to the weight loss itself.; rather it’s likely to be the drug Mounjaro. This is the first time I’ve taken medication to help with weight loss and I took it because I wasn’t well enough to lose weight the way I had done previously.
