5 mg having no effect of hardly any effect on suppression

I took the second dose of 5 mg on Saturday and the effect has been minimal.

I need to eat very very little to lose weight. Even last week's 5 mg hardly touched the sides

Would it be super dangerous to follow up with a 2.5 mg dose today or tomorrow ? Or is that not a good idea ?

This is how I've been taking it:

Week 1 2.5 mg good suppression
Week 2 2.5 mg good suppression
Week 3 2.5 mg bad suppression
Week 4 2.5 mg bad suppression
Week 5 3.75 mg great suppression
Week 6 4.1 mg great suppression
Week 7 5 mg some suppression but not great
Week 8 5 mg, pretty much no suppression

I tired to go slow from 2.5 to 5, because I didn't want to get sick. I have literally had no bad side effects at all on any doses so far.

But I'm very disappointed by last week's suppression. I need to take two more weeks of 5mg before I can move up to 7.5 mg. I've been injecting in my arm and thighs all this time. Last week I tried half in my thigh and half in my stomach. It's probably been the worst suppression I've had so far.

I'm careful with stomach injections and moving up quickly because I reacted very badly to Wegovy and I only injected in my stomach.

Any advice ??

Does this correlate with your monthly cycle at all? I just noticed that it seems to be a four week pattern and if it was possibly done to hormones? I'm definitely still more hungry just before my period even with the medication.

Mhh I suppose the only thing I can say is that the first two injections tend to be at the beginning of the cycle and the other two, tend to fall in my luteal phase. So I guess it does make some sense what you're saying.

These doses are low to get you used to it and won't always get results. I would follow the prescription (I do in fact) and not make it up. You might not lose weight until much further on the course. This was explained to me (on wygovy) by the online pharmacy. Can you contact your provider for medical advice?

Which of the many available Weightloss injections are you referring to?

Oh gosh, I thought I mentioned it !

Mounjaro !

I tried Wegovy last year and side effects were horrendous. Hence why I was trying to move up a bit slower when I was supposed to move to 5 mg mounjaro.

This isn’t unheard of, some people are not super responders and it can take a while for you to settle in once you titrate up from the initial doses. You are still on a low dose it wasn’t intended to have its full impact yet. As your body gets used to the medication over time the suppression will lessen and then you move up to the next dose. It’s normal for suppression to wear off towards the point you are ready to move up to the next dose. When I was taking Ozempic I would be really hungry by day 5 on 0.5mg as it wore off

Sorry if I am confused but isn’t the dosing schedule 4 weeks then move up, so why are you on week 8 and still on 5mg for 2 more weeks? If you had not used 2 weeks of messing with the dose you would be at the end of 5mg by now, right? I think you need to speak to your provider perhaps

Yes I just wanted to go up slowly. I'm worried to move to 7.5 mg as I haven't had 4 weeks of 5 mg yet. But technically, I should be moving up to 7.5 mg this week, had I done it ' properly '.

Like I said, I was very unwell when I moved from 0.25 Wegovy to 0.5 Wegovy and that really stuck in my mind, so I wanted to take it slower with Mounjaro.

Even on the weeks the suppression worked well, it stopped working on day 5. Or was very much lessened. I can live with that. But last week's dose really had little effect overall.

I'm having exactly the same. On 5mg and no impact on my appetite yet.

I am T1 diabetic and it's made my diabetes amazing to control though!
I did 4 weeks on 2.5mg and 3 weeks on 5mg.

Anyway, as I am 3 weeks into 5mg without impact, tomorrow I am going to give myself 7.5mg. I'll let you know if it helps!

@Nowanextraone how did you get on with 7.5mg?
