do you think i could get away with these under a floor length gown. I don't like the of buying uncomfortable shoes that i wear for only one day. So thought these maybe a idea

What about white converse.can have them blinded up and use ribbon instead of laces. I had clear Vivienne Westwood ballet flats.

Chickadee001 · Yesterday 19:11

Ecco do a nice pair of cream and gold sandals with rip tape that are very comfortable and not hideous. I have plantar fasciitis and love mine, tempted to buy another pair in black!

pretty much all i have ever worn is either sketchers, dr martins ,clarks or sports sandals my familiarity with shoes is awful .I am looking for something cream near flats but if its completely flat that causes issues. But i cant walk in heels due to my issues i am a clutz =p

This is why i ask for opinions on shoes as i dont have a clue when it comes to wedding shoes hahaha

Why not wear some Dr Martins? You don't have to wear "bridal shoes"

Lights22 · Yesterday 19:13

Like these?

Sod what other people think. I wore a pair of lowish mid height champagne coloured sandals from Shein for the ceremony. Then I immediately got changed into Ugg sandals, which feel like slippers. Bliss.

No don't thiŵnk so. Sorrry. Why not buy a pair and customise them yourself? I have seen people do this with ballroom gowns ...on a c4 documentary about doing your own side hustle & in it the lady did ballroom dancing and said it was too expensive to "bling your own gowns" so they had "bling" parties (basically everyone sat in a group and they stuck fake gems on their dresses & she sold the kit as a side hustle). Alternatively, primark often do some really pretty ballet flats eith diamante on.

ImPamDoove · Yesterday 19:39

I’d go for trainers or converse rather than those sandals. They’re soooo bad.

ByUniqueViper · Yesterday 19:52

I would say no. They're likely to show. You will have a lovely dress so dont want to spoil your look.
Why dont you just buy some ballet pumps or something similar that has some crystals or something sparkly on. You could wear them after too x

@rosydreams if they're the sort of footwear you used to wearing why not some sparkly sketchers or dr martens. It's your day and you want to be comfortable for the day. You don't need to wear something that looks like a wedding shoe. Hope you find something you like.

I wore wedding flip flops! As you say, no one sees your feet if you have a floor length dress! I’m really not up for wearing uncomfortable shoes on any day!

Skyflier · Yesterday 21:29

It’s your wedding day so wear what you want. You will be so radiant and lovely that no one will be looking at your feet

Hollybobs1 · Yesterday 21:30

What about something like these? I'm getting these for my wedding next year with a matching pair for my daughter who will be my flower girl.

I think pair 3 or 4 that you found would be fine.

Have you ever tried fit flops? I know some people swear by them but others don't get on. They have an occasion selection on their website, so that could be worth a browse

E.g. https://www.fitflop.com/uk/en/shop/gracie-ultra-jewel-metallic-leather-t-bar-sandals-p-A4I#675

The most important thing is to be pain free so you can enjoy your day! As you say wedding dresses are so long that no one will get much more than a glimpse of your shoes in any event

A minimalist, T-bar silhouette powered by smart comfort technology is studded with oversized jewels for the Gracie sandals.

I wore white dr martens when I got married. Wear something you are going to be comfy in and actually like as opposed to something you think you should wear

ThatMintMember · Yesterday 23:17

I know someone who wore a Crocs wedge on her wedding day, I don't think anyone even noticed!

I wore a low heel from Paradox London and they were really comfortable. They had lots of padding inside them which was so nice and the height really helped too. They sell some low heels which might work, they're similar styles to what you've shared but they are at least bridal!

What about trainers? You can get some beautiful embroidered bridal trainers- I got a pair of embroidered converse from etsy, was comfy all day and they looked fabulous. There's also glitzier options if you want some sparkle...https://www.etsy.com/uk/market/bridal_trainers

I ummed and ahhhd about trainers for ny wedding shoes and it is my one regret that I didnt just do it!

I ended up with rainbow club bridal shoes that I still have but haven't seen since I took them off and put them back in the box 10+ years ago. Wish I'd gone the converse route!

FourSevenFour · Yesterday 23:35

Pick the most comfortable and reusable of those sandals and be done with it. If you need arch support ot orthopedics, it's ok.

Yes, sparkly trainers are fashionable now, but depending on who your guests are, maybe they didn't get a memo.
There is nothing objectively better or more easthethical about suggestions like converse shoes (which afaik are quite bad for feet).

Pieceofpurplesky · Yesterday 23:51

Crocs, docs or trainers! Be comfy

Beachforever · Today 09:44

Wear whatever you’re comfortable in. It is a day when you’ll be on your feet the whole day.

I bought very expensive bridal shoes. Complete waste of money. I walked down the aisle in them and that’s it. I changed straight into platform flip flops as my feet were killing me. No one knew (or cared) as my gown was floor length.

FallenNight · Today 09:57

I have fussy feet, and bought a pair from Paradox for my wedding. They were surprisingly very comfortable. I had them dyed black after the wedding and have worn them every time I have needed a formal pair of going out shoes since.

girlwhowearsglasses · Today 10:02

do have a look at Esska, their flatter shoes are incredibly comfortable. Buy some gold or silver and then you will definitely wear

Izzyink · Today 10:03

The last wedding I went to the bride wore converse.
