Would you wear this to a family wedding or is it too white and therefore could be deemed controversial??

I think it’s fine. Looks more like pale yellow than white to me.

Pollqueen · 29/06/2025 15:08

Looks fine. Pale lemon with a pattern so doesn't resemble a wedding dress at all. I like it

Pancakeflipper · 29/06/2025 15:09

I tĥink it's totally fine for a wedding.

HippeePrincess · 29/06/2025 15:09

I think it’s fine for an informal garden party style wedding but it’s quite casual in my opinion.

CassieAusten · 29/06/2025 15:13

It's fine. It's also a maternity dress so you get to break every dress rule even if it wasn't because it's a miracle you've got something that fits you. Nice bag and shoes and maybe something on your head and you'll be golden.

You can tell the model is wearing a fake bump because no pregnant woman I have ever met would be in those shoes!

It’s yellow - fine for a wedding

Ribenaberry12 · 29/06/2025 15:23

I think that’s lovely for a wedding guest. Really pretty.

LittlleMy · 29/06/2025 15:27

I think it’s fine. You could always accessorise with say a yellow handbag or some such to empathise the yellow a little more also if you’re worried still about the light colour of the dress.

ginasevern · 29/06/2025 15:29

Yes, it's really pretty and looks comfortable and cool.

Isometimeswonder · 29/06/2025 15:57

Get bright yellow sandals, it'll look great

holidayfever2024 · 29/06/2025 18:01

That’s such a pretty dress OP , go for it nothing controversial about that !

Parker231 · 29/06/2025 18:04

Pretty dress - totally suitable for a wedding

fluffiphlox · 29/06/2025 18:10

It looks very appropriate to me. Who knew you could get a dress for £22.50?!

Jellybean23 · 29/06/2025 20:30

Quick, buy it!

SameIssue · 29/06/2025 21:07

Thank you all lovely ladies for your endorsement!!!

Going against the grain here but I think it's too white. You don't know how it will come up in photos. I wouldn't personally risk it. Lovely dress though.

WhiteRosesAndCandles · 30/06/2025 10:11

It's too white

PumpkinsAndCoconuts · 30/06/2025 13:06

It's fairly casual. Does that fit the "vibe" of the wedding?

And it could photograph very white.

My personal opinion: The dress would be too casual for most weddings. And if it isn't too casual (due to the event being rather relaxed), I'd worry about the bride wearing a rather "relaxed/boho dress" as well (and this photographing as white).

So no, I would not wear this (unless you're close enough to simply ask the bride in advance or know what she's wearing...).

£17.50 now!

I am usually of the view that if you have to ask it isn’t right, but on this occasion I think it’s absolutely fine.

SheridansPortSalut · 30/06/2025 16:21

I usually so no on these threads but that dress is fine.

SameIssue · 01/07/2025 00:17

Well I am really not that close with the bride but I don’t think it’s meant to be casual. However, based on my personality, I am quite used to being the under-dressed / casual person at most events so that in itself shouldn’t be a problem.

Separately, am a bit annoyed that the price fell by £5 just after I ordered it this morning :( I did get some £2.50 yellow earrings to go with it so was very proud of my £25 budgeting (have already got golden sandals to go with it)!

Edited

I’ve been to a lot of weddings in my 49 years and have never been to one where that would be too casual. In any case, it’s really accessories, rather than the dress, that makes an outfit weddingy.

SameIssue · 01/07/2025 16:58

The dress came today in the post, it’s actually proper yellow in person so really no bride upstaging concerns there, phew!!!
