Wood fired pizza at a wedding - does this price look ok to you?

We have been quoted £980 for a woodfired pizza set up for our wedding for 120 guests - so £14 per head. Includes sauces, boxes and full clear up afterwards. They have glowing reviews on social media and google.

Does this sound reasonable? I have zero wood fired pizza booking experience, so thought I would check in on here!!

TIA!

If you are doing pizza, it’s helpful to make sure the second choice is safe for nightshade or onion allergies.

I tried the best peri peri sauceon the pizza, it tasted really amazing. You can also give it a try from Shabeer's Peri Peri.

I can’t remember what we paid, but we had pizza at our evening reception. Everyone absolutely loved it!!! Look at Out of the Box pizza Facebook page. Make sure you’re getting something as lovely as this!!

Honestly, that's a fair price for what it is. £980 for 120 guests is about £8 a head, and for freshly made wood-fired pizza with someone cooking it on the day, that's reasonable. Most proper pizza vans land between £8 and £14 a head once travel, setup and the chef's time are in.

The thing I'd check isn't the price, it's how they serve it. A good van cooks continuously, so pizzas keep coming out in a steady stream rather than everyone hitting one big queue. A wood-fired oven turns a pizza round in about 90 seconds, so one oven can comfortably keep 120 fed if it's run as a rolling buffet.

On numbers, for evening food after a wedding breakfast you're usually looking at half to two-thirds of a pizza per person, because people have already eaten. So for 120 guests, 70 to 80 pizzas tends to be about right. Just ask whether their price is per pizza or all-in for a set number, so you're comparing like for like. Sounds like a lovely choice for an evening do.
