Dress help - with or without belt?!

I’ve chosen my dress, but I wasn’t sure about the belt. Originally I wanted very simple.. then I chose the cathedral length pearl covered veil.. 😅 so not so simple now.. they put a belt on the dress and although I loved it I thought maybe it cut me off in the middle and drew eyes to my middle.. but the more I look at the pictures the more I’m beginning to like the belt - I need opinions!

If you like the belt go for it. I agree it’s a difficult choice, they both look good.

Congratulations!

Lollypop701 · 11/09/2022 11:45

Dress is beautiful, and I like the belt

Yamaya · 11/09/2022 11:45

I prefer without

jellybe · 11/09/2022 11:47

I think with looks wonderful, draws you in beautifully. But, with out looks nice too

UWhatNow · 11/09/2022 11:48

Looks like something missing without it so I vote for the belt. You look beautiful btw!

jays · 11/09/2022 11:48

The belt does pull focus but in a nice way. I think it looks more ‘traditional’ without the belt but I really like the belt too. Genuinely both are lovely so I see why you’re not sure. Sorry that’s no help, gorgeous dress btw and congratulations!

gluenotsoup · 11/09/2022 11:50

With. Looks a bit unfinished without, you look beautiful 🙂

pimlicoanna · 11/09/2022 11:51

I think it looks better with something but I don't like that belt.

scrivette · 11/09/2022 11:52

I think with the belt

mummyh2016 · 11/09/2022 11:52

I don't think it needs it.

MummyDrinksWine · 11/09/2022 11:52

Thank you for the opinions so far. The other niggle I’ve got about the belt is that the dress is button back all the way to the floor and I feel like seeing the belt tied at the back takes away from the beautiful buttons.. I wonder if I can have the belt sewn on instead of tied?

With accentuates your waist. Keep the belt!

I just had the beaded part of my belt sewn on, so definitely possible!
Unhelpfully, I also like it both ways - but I guess that means you can't go wrong!

maybe the belt or a belt/band sewn on to the front reaching to the side seams in fabric to accent the dress …. I’ve seen that before and it was lovely, I’m just not explaining it very well!

Whatisthegoss · 11/09/2022 14:04

I like with the belt. It excentuates the bodice.
Beautiful dress.

TooManyMoronsHere · 11/09/2022 14:04

With but with diamantés all the way around

And yes you can have a belt attached to the dress instead of tied it's appliquéd on I believe

Tralalalalalalalalalala · 11/09/2022 14:06

without. looks more streamline. lovely.

Bananas52 · 11/09/2022 14:08

@MummyDrinksWine I bought a belt to go with my dress and a seamstress sewed it on in a way that it always looked as if it was part of the dress, so definitely an option!

teaandtoastwithmarmite · 11/09/2022 14:11

I like both but prefer belt a bit more.

mnahmnah · 11/09/2022 14:17

It’s a beautiful, classic dress that doesn’t need the belt. I think belts on wedding dresses can look lovely, but are a current fad and so will look dated when you look back.

washingbasketqueen · 11/09/2022 14:27

Both lovely but I like it better with the belt.

pickledpotato · 11/09/2022 14:28

The belt looks lovely

But the dress doesn't need it so I can see why you're conflicted!!

olympicsrock · 11/09/2022 14:31

Prefer it without . Looks more streamlined and more classic. Not sure the belt goes.

itsgettingweird · 11/09/2022 14:31

I love it but after you've seen it with the belt it does seem like it's missing something without.

I was thinking about something sewn onto the waistline so maybe the gems or similar.

It's a lovely dress though and you look beautiful in it.

I'd sack you're hair and make up person though Wink
