Inexpensive bridesmaid dresses.. do they exist?!

Just that really! I'm looking for some bridesmaids dresses. I've got 5 bridesmaids so trying to keep costs down.

I actually ordered 5 on the ASOS sale.. they looked lovely online it have arrived in awful packaging and condition, so creased you can't even see how they are supposed to be worn and they don't seem very true to size either!

Does anybody recommend anywhere for inexpensive bridesmaids dresses..? I was looking in wed-2-be as they have some gorgeous bridesmaids dresses, but kind of begrudge paying almost £100 a dress for something they will wear once for a day... 😣🙈

My bridesmaids wore these and they looked a lot more expensive than they cost!

Mine were from Asos, the Maya range of dresses. Got them with a good discount code. They did need steaming to get the creases out, but looked lovely on the day.

DoodleBelle · 14/12/2021 10:39

I had the same issue and managed to get mine from Dorothy Perkins in the end

FluffMagnet · 14/12/2021 10:43

I went with Chi Chi London. This was more when they started and were cheaper, but in January the sales will be on.

LadyDanburysHat · 14/12/2021 10:46

It depends how cheap you want, but Monsoon have some lovely dresses.

PinkPlantCase · 14/12/2021 10:48

Mine were £20 from asos, looked lovely and went with our colour scheme

My wedding dress was actually a bridesmaids dress from Boohoo and was £60

Tell the bridesmaids to wear whatever they like... problem solved?? They could discuss to make sure there's no direct clash, that they're wearing stuff that makes them look like they're at the same wedding?

Just a thought. Maybe because I would never have tried to tell my sister what to wear, bad things would have happened Grin

GrrrlPwr · 14/12/2021 10:53

Nice dresses on Goddiva website

StylishMummy · 14/12/2021 11:02

Mine for £45 each on eBay and they were stunning

nonotquite · 14/12/2021 11:05

Thanks all. I've got a colour scheme so wasn't so keen on asking them to pick their own dresses as it's a specific colour. Cornflower blue.

This is the dress I ordered, but they arrived very creased.

I've asked my bridesmaids to choose their own dresses but to make sure they fall within a certain colour palette. They won't be identical, but they should complement one another. If you don't mind a more informal look this is better value for money, as it means the bridesmaids can pick something they'll wear again.

Get the ones you've ordered steamed in the dry cleaners?

TerryWoganFanGirl · 14/12/2021 11:17

This might work for you depending on the sizes you need?

Also check out here - they have a showroom in Croydon and do most styles in a big range of colours www.sexyher.co.uk/bridesmaids-dresses.html

My dd and the other bridesmaid at a recent wedding wore beautiful dresses from Next.. they were about £30.

larrythelizard · 14/12/2021 12:10

I ordered some in the Jan sales from monsoon and got a dress that should have been £120 reduced to £19 - pretty pleased with that!

CaveMum · 14/12/2021 12:14

I was a bridesmaid for a friend who allowed us to choose our own dresses as long as they were pastel coloured. I got mine from Chi Chi London, think it was about £50.

Inquisitivearchitect · 14/12/2021 12:16

I asked all of my bridesmaids to choose and wear their own favourite dresses (that they already had!).

By coincidence they all wore various shades of pink lace dresses, that matched their own body shape and personalities perfectly!

I did buy matching “cover ups” to ensure everyone was warm as it was a Winter wedding! Although I know this won’t suit everyone - it’s just an idea Smile

Also, I have seen bridesmaid bundles on eBay so this could work if you’re handy with a sewing machine for size adjustments?

CaveMum · 14/12/2021 12:17

This is similar to your original choice. £78

Mine were the same brand from ASOS too, similar price in the sale a few years ago. They did look a bit creased and disappointing when they first came out the packet, but once they were ironed and on they were gorgeous and got lots of compliments on the day. A couple of the bridesmaids have worn them for other occasions since.

Inquisitivearchitect · 14/12/2021 12:18

There’s a bundle of 3 on eBay with 5mins left! Bargain!!
