August 2021 wedding..?

Had our May wedding cancelled, tried again for October but that was postponed too as DP's parents live abroad and his DF is undergoing cancer treatment so it wasn't worth the risk them coming over.
We've rebooked for august but really, what is the likelihood of it happening? I just don't think I can face another year of worry as to whether it will happen or not.

@harper30

Hi all, late to the party but I was reading the thread and looking for people in the same boat! Our date (our THIRD date so far 😂) is July 31st so I'm cautiously optimistic? We wrote a list of 30 guest ages ago, and I can like with 30 for sure. If we're optimistic are we thinking we could plan for 50? Is that what others are thinking for this summer provisionally? Our original list was 140 😂 I feel like I'm getting ahead of myself resuming the original planning from last year for that many. I did spend several hours last night making more ribbon bunting for our village hall reception though! Hope prevails!
Based on the latest info I am going ahead with original numbers - basically 80 for day, another 50 at night but we're not until winter. (And I'm not positive there won't be restrictions again by then...)

Hi guys

I am definitely going to plan for 30 . If 30 is all we can have I'll be more than grateful. But if we can have 50 then I will be hoping for that too. We are hoping for this summer to get married.

Good to know thanks both, I feel like I have to plan two weddings, one for 30 guests and one for more like 100, and hope my vendors can be as flexible as possible 😂
I've really fallen back into the Pinterest hole I was in this time last year, it didn't take any time at all to get obsessed with it again, I'm trying not to talk about it too much with nearest and dearest, I don't want them to get sick of me talking about it this far out and when it might not even be a very big event

Heard back from my vicar and we are planning our wedding for July 24th. Also want to cut down on money so what to have no more than 45 people . I'm currently at 55 Confused

harper30 · 26/02/2021 15:05

Maybe meet in the middle at 50? 😂 I honestly don't know how many to plan for at all, and I'm fucked as I didn't book the florist for our new date when I moved all the other vendors last year, so no florist.
Can I ask a cheeky question and see how much people were planning to/are planning to/potentially would spend on flowers?

dipsydoo22 · 26/02/2021 17:53

I need to book a florist . No idea how much they cost or what I will spend. I know I will get a couple of quotes .
I'm looking into hiring a photographer now

Ok so I'm getting married in Scotland & 50 is obviously what we are getting. That's tier 0 so even if we go in to tier 0 in July like she hopes I think that's the best we are getting. I'm happy with that though and taking 50 and running. Happy today because I know what's happening now & that's it!

Onemorefortheroad · 16/03/2021 17:39

Positive news today! I think if numbers stay steady/decline we will get even more than 50 but it's a great start as a minimum!

dipsydoo22 · 16/03/2021 19:28

Thats a very good start. You must be so excited
