Bridecilla · 01/03/2020 19:45

18th July for us, in a barn in Northumberland.

No dress yet - I'm planning on an off the peg one.

Anyone want to chat wedding prep as I'm boring my family to death!

I am on 20th June, got my dress but having huge doubts!
When are you going dress shopping?

NotEvenTheKing · 02/03/2020 18:23

Meeee! Also 20th June.

Feeling a bit overwhelmed at the moment.

bravotango · 02/03/2020 21:24

Me too! Not until October. Have tried on approximately 139202 dresses with no joy.

Bridecilla · 02/03/2020 21:43

Why the doubts @Cantdecidewhich?

I tried on 5 on wed2b and felt huge in them all. I'm hitting the gym hoping to get shot of a stone before I try again. Scared it's going to end up being a panic buy!

6th June.
I got my dress from ASOS. I hated the experience of trying on wedding dresses and thought fuck it. We’re having a relaxed tipi wedding and (hopefully if it’s nice weather) will be too warm for a big faffy dress.
Also feeling overwhelmed. I got made redundant so burying head in sand in terms of money which isn’t good and worrying about taking time off if I do find a job lol. Keep having stress dreams about it. Last nights involved all our vendors not having a clue what was happening on the day, and everything running late / things missing. Woke up in a sweat haha.

On the plus side we did go to make our wedding rings at the weekend. I can really recommenced making your own, it was a lovely day and our rings are so personal and unique now.

islandislandisland · 02/03/2020 21:52

Me! 3rd July. Will be 6 months pregnant then so not sure what to do dress wise Blush

NotEvenTheKing · 02/03/2020 21:59

Island if it were me, I would go for an empire waist for the dress. Something a bit floaty. The higher waist band should sit nicely above your baby bump.

Haddaway your wedding sounds lovely! I am also very worried about the money side of it. Even though it's literally the cheapest diy wedding ever.

HaddawayAndShite · 02/03/2020 22:22

NotEven it’s scary how quickly things snowball isn’t it?

I’ve also got awful anxiety so right now the thought of standing in front of all these people is horrifying my. Plus I said I’d be skinny (I wanted to lose 5 stone). Only 6 stone to go Grin

Babytigerrr · 02/03/2020 22:27

Me! Same date as you 18th july!

Have got the dress but also want to lose a bit of weight.

Have most things sorted. Dp wants a band but dont know where to start with that.

Also need to give notice!

Ours is a diy wedding too ... costs soon mount up though dont they!

islandislandisland · 02/03/2020 22:29

@NotEvenTheKing thank you, that's what I'm thinking. I'm very slim and first pregnancy so no idea if I'll gain weight.

Anyone growing their own flowers..?

NotEvenTheKing · 02/03/2020 22:39

Hoddaway omg. Are you me? Ive been saying I'd lose 5 stone since sept 18 Blushso aiming for 2 now. Not how I envisioned my wedding day, but what can you do?

NotEvenTheKing · 02/03/2020 22:40

Island I reckon that'll look really lovely, especially if you are slim.

NotEvenTheKing · 02/03/2020 22:40

I obviously meant haddaway Grin

delilahbucket · 02/03/2020 22:45

Less than three months to go for us. Most stressful bit was the invitations and families taking liberties. Got my dress from a store closing down last summer and had my first fitting last week. It needs shortening and letting out at the bust, but I knew that when I bought it and so it was never going to be an issue.
Still got a lot to sort, little bits like decorations and ds's shoes and meetings with various people. Trying to run a business in the midst of it all which is hard work!

Purplequalitystreet · 02/03/2020 22:54

6th June for us. Waiting for rsvp's at the moment and keep having nightmares that no one turns up! Dress is all sorted. Just sorting random bits now. We still need ties for the men. Who knew it would be so hard to find a dusky purple tie?!

Charlottejade89 · 02/03/2020 23:11

28th june for us. Rings, dress, and bridesmaid dresses all bought. DJ, photobooth, hair and make up all booked, cake being made by my sisters friend so that sorted. Ceremony and reception is a package which includes food and welcome drinks so that saves alot of hassle with finding catering etc. Hunby to bes friend is a photographer with his own business so hes lending one of his employees and editing the photos for free. So i think were pretty much there. Just need to finish paying for it all now Sad

Cantdecidewhich · 03/03/2020 11:55

@Bridecilla I bought my dress in November and have since lost weight so keep thinking maybe another style would look better.

I am having a nightmare getting RSVP's back in, I know we still have a few months to go but would just like to know who is coming.

It is far more stressful than I imagined!!

Teacaketotty · 03/03/2020 12:07

@HaddawayAndShite I’ve been made redundant too so dont even want to think about the wedding right now, do you feel that way? Not getting married until December so plenty of time to sort!

Cantdecidewhich · 03/03/2020 15:19

I too have been made redundant ( 2 months ago) but just got a new job to start next week so hoping to top my bank up a bit before the wedding payments start flying out. It has been a worry!

TheDogsMother · 03/03/2020 15:39

9th May for me. It's a very small wedding at a lovely venue followed by a leisurely lunch there. I'm not having a wedding dress, it's more of a tea dress style. It's original price was way over budget and even after the initial price reduction it seemed like a lot of money. I finally went to the boutique to look at it and they had just reduced again so that covered the cost of shoes and a bag. It's currently being taken up or as they put it, with the atelier Grin

WooMaWang · 03/03/2020 15:54

30 May for me. We only just booked it (got a cancellation) so loads to organise. I've booked the registrar and venue, and we've texted everyone to see if they're free. 😂 I'm looking at proper invitations on Etsy today and we're going to look at rings at the weekend.

I'll be 7 months pregnant @islandislandisland. I've been looking at maternity wedding dresses because that's all that'll be suitable. I've been looking at the Seraphine dresses (although the one I like best is not available in an 8 or 10 and has no indication of when it might be available).

Miltonj · 03/03/2020 15:55

@islandislandisland I will be 27 weeks pregnant on wedding day too! No idea how big I'll be as it's my first too. But I went to a lovely boutique, chose an empire line dress and it's going to be fitted a week before wedding! I bet loads of places would be able to do this for you. Alternatively you can buy maternity dresses from Tiffany rose, lovely and an absolute bargain too! Xx

WooMaWang · 03/03/2020 17:36

I've just been looking at some of the phase 8 and monsoon wedding dresses online. Several of them look like they'd be fairly easy to alter to fit a bump.

The hardest thing is not knowing how big it's going to be really. xxx

TheDogsMother · 04/03/2020 10:10

If anyone is looking to match grooms/best man ties to a colour theme I can highly recommend a company called Swagger and Swoon. I only needed to get one pocket square but they have a zillion colours all available as swatches and the order turns up quickly and beautifully packaged. I have no affiliation to them at all but just wanted to mention them as they've been excellent.

Purplequalitystreet · 04/03/2020 11:29

@TheDogsMother ooh thanks I will definitely try them. I'm having a nightmare
