Anyone getting married this year?

18th July for us, in a barn in Northumberland.

No dress yet - I'm planning on an off the peg one.

Anyone want to chat wedding prep as I'm boring my family to death!

27th June here!

19 guests for the ceremony and a meal after than an extra 65 people for a party after.

Second time around for me so keeping it fairly low key (apart from the dancing which I hope will be the opposite!)

Got this dress and just need to find a long slip to go underneath. Flowers are gyp and ivy leaves with a matching flower crown.

Pretty much there, just need to start paying for things now!

Well we went for our registrar appointment and she couldn't register me ! My decree absolute refers to me as Mrs ExH Surname and because I have never used that name it didn't even occur to me that it would be a problem. They need to see the original marriage certificate showing my maiden (current) name and my married name so that they know it is me. Obviously I can 't find the original marriage certificate so have had to express apply for a copy. When I have this I then have to make an appointment for just me with the registrar. Urgently !

We gave notice at our local council last week. So this week we received the ceremony choices booklet from the registrars who will be marrying us.

Me! I'm getting married next Friday! So so nervous, even more so with this coronavirus hopefully all will go smoothly!

Yes. I think any shut down measures won't happen until at least next week. So your wedding should be great.

And hopefully we'll be back to normal before May.

Unless you panic and struggle with the really difficult questions they ask you (presumably to prove you know him). I'm not sure what knowing each others' full names and job titles proves really. You can find that info out using google for both of us.

Yes I know his name and I'm pretty unlikely to panic .This issue happened due to maiden and married names.Perhaps it should have dawned on me that the decree absolute came through with me referred to as Mrs ex's surname though from the day I married I never used it. It might be worth registrars mentioning, along with their checklist of documents, that if the bride-to-be did not change to her former spouse's name she would need to bring the previous marriage certificate to provide a link between current/maiden name and married name . They've all been very helpful so I'm sure it will be fine.

I'm getting married in late October. We have the registrars booked, venue, reception and catering but nothing else done. We are staying very low key but I'm having a nightmare with dresses as I'm currently pregnant and also somehow losing weight so I have no idea what size I'll be in August when baby is here

Friday 20th March feel like I'm being confusing sorry...

I've been trying to organise hair and make up for May today. And making dress appointments. I have been told several times that 'there isn't much time before may'.

Oh well. We started planning at the end of Feb. So that's how much time we've got. One of the hairdressers I talked to was amazed we got a Saturday in May at this point in the year. 😆
