Did you have a tea length wedding dress?...

If so how did you make it look glamerous? I'm swaying towards a tea length but my mum doesn't think it's glam enough for me! Every bride I seem to see has the same style of dress and I want to be different!

Let's see pics!!

It's beautiful OP.

I'd change the gold belt and shoes to my favourite colour.

@MissMoodyMoo I know I am biased, but I love 99% of Mooshki dresses! And it's definitely not tacky.

The dresses are beautifully made, and they will custom make a dress for you (not necessarily more expensive than choosing one of their designs)

MissMoodyMoo · 11/08/2019 10:12

I'd change it to a baby pink belt to match the bridesmaid dresses. I think my mum's problem is she absolutely loves my original dress that I got at a sample sale then I fell pregnant and have the dreaded c section pouch and there's absolutely no way I'll ever be wearing a figure hugging dress again! I know my new shape and I'd feel awful and self conscious all day!! Not to mention it's a size 8 and I'm now a 12 😂🙈 hoping to get down to atleast a size 10 but I'm not too bothered I'm rocking the chunky but funky look!

@spudlet that is gorgeous!!

I really hope I can do a good twirl in mine! Can't wait to wear it.

Op also check out fairy gothmother - I got mine from there and customer service excellent with ordering online!

Hmm I'm a bit with your mum about that dress. I'm not keen on the differing lengths.

Nesssie · 12/08/2019 15:28

@MissMoodyMoo I like that dress, without the gold accessories or that hair style, it will look so much less 'gypsy'

roseapothecary · 12/08/2019 15:32

I had a tea length wedding dress. I loved it. It was from fairygothmother.

BearFoxBear · 12/08/2019 15:39

This was my dress, I felt like Elizabeth Taylor! Paired it with heels, a fur stole, birdcage veil and super red lips and it was GLAM.

I'm 5ft and will be wearing a tea length gown from Lou Lou Bridal Smile

Kitty1184 · 14/08/2019 14:18

I'm getting married in June and have this cheeky number -

www.britishretro.co.uk/product/dee-dee-ivory-satin-jacquard-full-circle-dress/?attribute_pa_size=12&gclid=EAIaIQobChMIve6np7mC5AIVCbDtCh22egjZEAQYASABEgLPBPD_BwE

I've been married before and did the proper full length gown - hated it!

Mum4Fergus · 19/08/2019 20:36

I put a red tutu underskirt with my tea dress...

Echobelly · 19/08/2019 22:36

Yup, I wore a blue calf-length bridesmaids dress because I knew, from going to one or two formal events, that I just can't move well in a full-length gown and would just look uncomfortable, plus I'm only just over 5ft and, I'm sorry, but I think if you're short, big, long skirts make you look like you're melting into the ground! Grin

Also it was a wedding in a barn, I thought a big dress would be OTT
and might get muddy (in the end it poured on the day).

One note: I had no bridesmaids, just a flower girl and I think my dress, not being white, might have risked it not being clear who was the bride if I'd had adult BM party (that wasn't the reason I didn't have them, btw, there just weren't any obvious candidates!), so just be aware of that.

Screw it 'not being glam enough', it can be as glam as you want, it's all in how you wear it, there's no need to be 'worn' by a big dress.

Echobelly · 19/08/2019 22:38

@MissMoodyMoo - I think the dress with the higher front is perfectly nice and not Big Fat Gypsy Wedding

MrsMc2019 · 20/08/2019 18:51

I'm getting married in less than a month (eek!!) and I'm wearing a tea length dress and my bridesmaids are all in Lindy bops.

I have a waist length veil; very full petticoat; a simple tiara headband and a diamanté belt for mind x
