Wedding is in one year (just under) approx 100 guests (probably less and many in couples/family).

You should only give STDs to those people who you would really miss if they couidn't attend.

I disagree with some of the other posters - I may not be a vital guest on the A or even B list but I would be gutted to receive an invitation to a wedding only to find I had already booked my holiday. Equally, I would be disappointed if I’d avoided a clash with the wedding date only to find that I wasn’t invited. By sending out STD cards you are giving potential guests a) notice of the date and b) confirmation that they are on the guest list. (And, if relevant, that’s the time to mention children policy!) It’s not a summons, it’s a courtesy to your guests.

I agree Italia2005. I happily book holiday or days off in advance for weddings if I’ve been invited. My annual leave has to be booked months and months in advance as well so the earlier notice the better. I did STDs 1year in advance, it’s Easter Saturday and a lot of my guests have booked accommodation based on that
