Rainbow themed - what colour for bridesmaids?

We are having a (hopefully single and classy) rainbow themed wedding, embracing it being a gay wedding and going wild. We’ve got subtle rainbow coloured details but the part I’m struggling with is what colour do I put the bridesmaids in?

I would have liked white with a different coloured sash / shoes each in the rainbow colours but I would need 6 then and I’m only planning on 3 bridesmaids.

Could you have them each in a rainbow sash?

Each has one colour sash and a different colour shoes, so between them you have a rainbow?

That might actually be nicer than matching sashes and shoes

White dresses with something like this? If you Google rainbow heels there are some lovely shoes too.

No idea, but I wish I’d done that for my wedding. Sounds gorgeous.

Have them in white with rainbow flowers and floral crowns unless that's what you are going for. Or have them in red, blue and yellow which are the primary colours and then use the rest of the rainbow for their bouquets so red bridesmaid with orange flowers, yellow bridemaid with pink flowers and blue bridesmaid with purple flowers- they will all have green from flower foliage!

You can get rainbow coloured petticoats.

The Pride flag only has six — I think the reason was something practical, people wanted to have it in two halves for an event and it was easier with an even number of colours? Something like that.

Are you going for the bold colours of the flag or maybe the pastal version

Could each wear tje same style of dress but ombre dress of two colours red in to orange, yellow in to green, blue in to purple.

Or the sash could be red with an orange middle, yellow with a green middle, blue with a purple middle?

My friend did this. She had each bm in a different coloured dress with different coloured shoes. Each dress/shoes were the contrastive colour on the colour wheel.
It looked amazing.

There is 6 colours in the gay pride rainbow that’s the one we are doing.

I’m thinking 3 bridesmaids in the colours, I could wear the shoes for the 4th colour and the best man is a woman so maybe put her matching the bridesmaids in the 5th colour or would that not look right?

What about jewellery instead? You can get lgbt or rainbow jewellery like cuffs, bands, earrings etc and some of it would be beautiful for a wedding.

Or a silk scarf? Could be worn in different ways on each person?

Not anymore. Scientists kicked Indigo out of the rainbow around 2014. This was around the same time as Pluto being demoted and kicked out of the planets club.

3 bridesmaids is easy with six colours:

Red , orange, purple posies

Yellow, green, blue shoes

Etc
