We are getting married in October 2019 so plenty of time. Anyone want to join me on a weight loss journey? I have 19lb to lose.

I'm in! I had my baby 8weeks ago would like to loose a stone and a half (at least) currently following weight watchers. Wedding is sept

Helpmeplan · 16/05/2018 08:59

Ooh good. We can do this Tigger. I'm using my fitness pal, doing a bit of jogging and trying to calorie control.

We'll look amazing on our big day!

Wedding August 2019, need to lost 2.5 stone. I’ve lost the half since January, just 2 left to go.

I’ve been low carbing, but I’m not very good at enforcing it.

bellsandwhistles89 · 16/05/2018 13:31

@MrsFionaCharming my wedding is in August 2019 as well!

I have a stone to loose which is do able but I like pizza too much.

Nowisthemonthofmaying · 16/05/2018 13:31

Ha I would love to join, although I'm on a bit of a tighter timeframe as I'm getting married at the beginning of July! Have a stone to lose before then... starting to think that it might not be possible but I'm going to have a jolly good try.

Am doing weightwatchers and going to the gym three times a week, as well as cycling to work every day. My problem is being bored at work as there's always loads of food around, I need more willpower!

Frouby · 16/05/2018 13:33

Can I join?

1st to lose.

Get married this Saturday. Grin

RafikiIsTheBest · 16/05/2018 13:39

Can I join too? I keep starting but life just gets busy and I pile it all back on. Lost 1st 1/2 since Christmas. Doing low carb at the moment which is hard, but working better than calorie counting was. I'm a very much all or nothing sort of person so no carbs means no sugar or junk so it's in some ways easier to stick to than me saying "well this chocolate bar is only 200 cal, so I can eat two and have a small tea"...

RafikiIsTheBest · 16/05/2018 13:40

I'm getting married in Feb next year, so really do need to get a move on, with 2st or more to lose.

Nowisthemonthofmaying · 16/05/2018 13:53

Ha frouby I thought I was being ambitious! Grin

Helpmeplan · 16/05/2018 15:08

Glad I am not the only one that has a bit to go!

The low carb ( which includes low sugar) is fabulous for getting weight off your tummy area. It's literally the only diet that's helped my apple shap. I lost my gut in about 8 weeks.
I have really lax the last few weeks and sure enough ....the rolls are back round my middle.
Easy to do and you get the same buzz not eating crap in the same way a big slice of pizza feels good now.

Tigger83 · 16/05/2018 16:40

I've got my gp post natal check next week then I can start on exercise. Planning on walking lots initially and might do insanity I want to get down to a size 10 from 14-16 doable?!

Helpmeplan · 16/05/2018 21:17

Yes, but don't overdo it

OP posts:
mellongoose · 17/05/2018 07:08

@Frouby you beat me. I've got half a stubborn stone to go in 3 weeks!!! Low carb has morphed into calorie counting. Running with weights on a c25k. I don't think I can shift it though!

Mumathon · 17/05/2018 07:54

Hello! Our wedding is also Oct ‘19. I’d like to lose 2.5stone which should take me to a comfortable 10-12 I think. Started a few weeks ago and have lost 11lb so far so I’m on the way, but think there’s an element of beginners luck there! Just calorie counting/MFP and keeping up on the exercise.

Helpmeplan · 17/05/2018 08:17

Mumathon. I'm getting married the same month and year as you 😁 Got to lose 21lb - 28lb. My main concern is that I'll lose it and then fail to maintain.

Nowisthemonthofmaying · 17/05/2018 08:25

Mumathon that's really impressive! I lost a stone last year before Christmas but lots of work trips away & naughty meals mean that I've piled some of it back on again.

Coffee and soup are my friends at the moment, filling and v low calorie!

IllBeAtTheBarIfYouNeedMe · 17/05/2018 08:25

Can I join too? I’m getting married October 2018 so I have just over 5 months to lose 3 preferably 4 stone. I’ve started following the Emily Skye fitness and diet plan and my plan is when I inevitably plateau with it I’ll switch to low carb. Beginning to think I should have gone for a more forgiving dress

Frouby · 17/05/2018 10:01

@mellongoose I gave up a month ago. Decided that as my dress is forgiving only I would notice an extra few lbs. And my gace was going a bit gaunt. I am 40 tho so picked my face over my figure.

I keep waiting to feel bad I am a fatty for getting married but I don't. I am usually fat anyway so would rather look at photos and think I look like the best version of me as I am than look and feel sad I am not as slim as the wedding photos.

I am a size 14/16 but carry it fairly well I think. And my dress is very forgiving I think.

You look fab @Frouby !!

I'm turning 42 between now and my wedding 👰. Age is just a number etc etc Confused

Nowisthemonthofmaying · 17/05/2018 11:23

You look great! That dress fits you really well.

I stupidly chose a skin-tight sheath dress with no give whatsoever so if I don't lose the weight I'll have to find something else to wear...

Helpmeplan · 17/05/2018 12:49

I'll be 42 by the time I get married, if I lose too much I look gaunt too so I have to be careful not to lose too much. I'm 5'5" so don't look good, imho, over a sz 10

OP posts:
Helpmeplan · 17/05/2018 12:50

Frouby you look lovely. My dress is quite similar too. Excited, and its 17 months away ffs

I wish people didn't feel they should lose weight for a wedding.
I wish people felt beautiful as they are
