So first off does this sound ok?

Ceremony is 15 mins from home.

So:

2.15pm Transport to venue
2.30pm Bride & Groom do their pre-ceremony thing
3pm Ceremony
3.30pm Pictures
4.30pm Transport to Reception
5pm Drinks
5.30pm Sit down meal
7pm Home for cake and piss up

__

Separate issue how do I tell my h2bs work colleague that there is no way he is coming to the wedding because he has to cover dp who is a chef without being blunt or rude.

I bet you'll all end up staying on at the restaurant for hours afterwards drinking in the bar.Grin

I would skip the pre ceremony thing. Usually you just arrive for the ceremony. It will give your guests time to have lunch before as well. It doesnt matter how long your in the reastaurant does it?

DiscoMoo · 05/04/2018 19:24

Honestly - I got married a few months ago. Ceremony booked for 1:30. I turned up at 1:28! It’s useful for the groom to be there 30 mins early to welcome guests etc but you don’t need to be.

purplecorkheart · 05/04/2018 19:24

Does your husband to be own the restaurant that he is working at? If not I wouldn't say to your husband workmate that he has to work. Let that up to his employer.

Your wedding sounds like my kind of dream wedding!I agree with the others though that the wait for the guests for the photos could be a bit long. I would either bring forward the transport to the restaurant or if there is a coffee shop/bar near the registrar's office may put a few pounds behind the till so everyone could have a coffee/drink while they are waiting (if the budget will allow).

Helpmeplan · 05/04/2018 21:55

No. We don't own the restaurant. My husband is the work mates boss 😂 so work mate will be told (had convo tonight). Deliberately had it somewhere h2b has nothing to do with so he doesn't get involved with the catering. He needs a rest!!!!

In all seriousness I was very ill recently and he was excellent at looking after me so I just want perfection for him.

It will be, he's marrying you!

And the more relaxed you both are, the more you'll enjoy it

We had to speak to registrars before we got married to make sure names addresses ages etc were still the same. We got married in a hotel though so don't know if its different to registrar office.
