Did anyone do their own makeup..

And be pleased with the finished product? I pretty much have to do mine; very rural and no-one here does it; I could go to counters /book in lessons with MAC to get tips etc but I won't be able to on the day. Did anyone else do theirs and were you happy with the result? How long does it take etc?

I am crap at doing makeup. Usually I don't wear it. I'm envious of those who can do their own makeup or look good in makeup etc. Especially cats eye liner, that looks fab when properly applied. I have very sensitive eyes so end up with them watering like crazy and usually one eye looks ok-ish until I apply the eyeliner. The other eye looks like a 3 year old got hold of me with their mother's makeup.

For my brother's wedding I got my makeup done professionally for the first time ever. Although I liked the colours it was very heavy and didn't look like me, I thought. I don't like looking fake. I don't think I'd fork out for a makeup artist for my own wedding so might just keep it natural and see how that goes.
