I am getting married this summer and plans are coming along well however I have no idea what music to walk down the aisle to! What did you/are you walking in to? We are not really the 'traditional' type if that helps..

It may too traditional but have you thought of string arrangments of your favourite song.
We considered 2 Cellos version of Sex is on FireGrin it's great but decided to go a bit more ahem subtle as didn't fancy DP grandma asking what it was called.

Eyetwitch · 28/12/2017 21:39

It may be even.

Duckstar · 28/12/2017 21:44

Where are you getting married? Civil or religious ceremony? Is the music going to be live (organ etc) or recorded and played on sound system?

Braceface · 28/12/2017 21:45

I walked down the aisle to At Last by Etta James because we had been together 13 years before we got married. :)

princessworkingmum · 28/12/2017 21:45

Music from Frozen

CheshireSplat · 28/12/2017 21:46

I walked down to Willow's Song from the Wicker Man.

Traditional old English song which suited a wedding in the English countryside and very romantic.

loobybear · 28/12/2017 21:49

An acoustic guitarist playing/singing Only You (listen to Joshua Radin Only You for an idea).

Tillyscoutsmum · 28/12/2017 21:50

Theme from True Romance by Hans Zimmer.

Instrumental of Hoppipolla

thefourgp · 28/12/2017 21:52

Let’s Get Married by The Proclaimers - we’re not traditional either and had been together for years

Duckstar · 28/12/2017 21:52

I walked down aisle to “Trumpet Voluntary” by Jeremiah Clarke. Played on organ as got married in church.

MoralBeryl · 28/12/2017 21:55

Cold Play's paradise. An instrumental version. It still gives me shivers (in a good way).

NancyFrank · 28/12/2017 21:56

Some fabulous songs here thank you! We're having a non religious ceremony in a barn venue and will likely be sound system rather than live. Is this something you choose as a bride or as a couple?

We chose together - Enya's Waterfall for us.

cathyclown · 28/12/2017 21:59

Need to know what kind of music you like.

Some like punk, up to date stuff, choral, classical, or other favourite music.

Give us a clue here!

Canon in D by pachebel. It was a registrary office wedding (my second wedding). We came in separately. It was perfect.

Mugshotzforlunch · 28/12/2017 22:01

Friends of ours recently got we'd and the bride walked down the aisle to a thousand years. It was very moving and very appropriate to their story.

My dsis walked down the aisle to pachabels canon.

I'm going to walk down the aisle to the instrumental version of everything I do I do it for you for robin hood prince of thieves (slightly cheesy I know but it's been my favourite film since forever and it means a lot to us)

Findingross · 28/12/2017 22:02

Apologies pachelbel.

MrsPringles · 28/12/2017 22:03

I had Christina Perri - A Thousand Years

I love it Grin

Beetlebum1981 · 28/12/2017 22:03

Mouldy Peaches - Anyone Else But You
m.youtube.com/watch?v=-N3BjVMWziE

Makes me smile listening to it again 😊

happymummy12345 · 28/12/2017 22:04

I'd say music should be chosen together. We chose all our music together
(What I had for my entrance music won't help you though as I had Here Comes The Bride).

Cheerybigbottom · 28/12/2017 22:05

I walked down the aisle to Real Love by Tom Odell 😍

Si1ver · 28/12/2017 22:05

I walked in to Nina Simone Here Comes the Sun.

Violletta · 28/12/2017 22:05

if i could go again, i would have "The Imperial March (Darth Vader's Theme)"

ChocolateCherries · 28/12/2017 22:06

We had Wouldn't it be Good by the Beach Boys. Upbeat and a tiny bit ironic.

Eyetwitch · 28/12/2017 22:06

I would say chosen by both of you.
I had a rough idea of what DP would like so found a selection of songs and we went through them together.
