I am getting married this summer and plans are coming along well however I have no idea what music to walk down the aisle to! What did you/are you walking in to? We are not really the 'traditional' type if that helps..

A friend of mine came back up the aisle to Barwick Green (theme to The Archers). She's a huge fan...

Tequilamockinbird · 28/12/2017 22:08

I walked down the aisle to Annie's Song by John Denver (chosen by DH)

Mumthedogsbeensick · 28/12/2017 22:09

I had April Showers, very apt as it rained through the ceremony but then cleared to blue skies as we left.

I chose the song as a surprise for my husband. It was an instrumental version of Blackbird by The Beatles. He has always played it to me on guitar so it was special to us both.

AmberNectarine · 28/12/2017 22:32

I walked down the aisle to 'isn't she lovely?' But I appreciate not everyone is that self-satisfied!

emmeline7725 · 28/12/2017 22:33

We had Secret Garden by Bruce Springstee. You might want to consider how long an introduction the song has. You might find that you're already at the front before the song has properly started.

Tied down with battleship chains? Take your daughter to the slaughter? Or another vote for the Queen of Sheiba

Bridesmaids walked first to Somewhere Over the Rainbow by Israel "IZ" Kamakawiwoʻole which is a beautiful song.

If you're using pre-recorded music (and there's nothing wrong with doing so!) then find out who is going to turn it off when you get to the front - at one wedding we went to it was stopped mid chorus at full volume, which wasn't great, and jarred a bit. We used a (live!) organist, and had practiced how fast to walk, and where the appropriate places to round off the music were - could you do the same?

LemonysSnicket · 28/12/2017 23:27

I will be walking to Lord Huron’s The Night We Met.

Launderetta · 28/12/2017 23:28

Queen's You're my best friend.

PenguinDi · 28/12/2017 23:28

I walked in to the theme from practical magic, something I'd wanted for years

Tanfastic · 28/12/2017 23:28

Canon in D. Beautiful.

yorkshireyummymummy · 28/12/2017 23:30

I went up the aisle to Widors Toccata and came down it to Soldier Girl by the Polyphonic Spree.
If you haven’t heard it before it’s unusual and well worth a listen!

lilydaisyrose · 28/12/2017 23:31

Highland Cathedral, played live on the bagpipes!
