We are really not doing the big fancy wedding thing and running on a very tight budget so our reception (DJ and buffet in a local social club) will be nothing fancy either but the one thing I would like is some half decent table decorations but with a budget this is proving hard to find.

There will be about 10 tables (about 60 people) so I thought maybe 3 big red apples with holes to fit tealights in, with a scattering of black rose petals and silver pieces of rock individually wrapped along the length of the table.

Oh this would be on white paper table cloths :o

the most important thing is to make everything match, same mix of colours for flowers, napkins, etc that always looks good x

Napkins... I hadn't even thought of napkins (useless emoticon)

I like idea of wine glasses/pot puree stuff, did you have to put anything on the bases, I wasn't sure if they'd shatter with heat.

Nope nothing but they were quite thick bases.

Your venue may be able to fan coloured paper napkins into their linen ones.

We've gone for the local dingy social club, we'll be lucky if they hoover the carpet... Classy :o

To be fair we're not having a meal or anything there and my mum is doing a buffet so don't need anything particularly fancy.

Ikea do great coloured paper napkins which will jazz up the buffet table

What about some of those tissue pom-poms. They are really easy to make and very cheap.
