Any weather watchers following this hurricane? I'm watching Fox Weather via Internet.

CNN have just been talking about 5m high waves hitting land

Crazy! The satellite images of the hurricane are mad too.

The videos I've seen already feel scary and I don't think it's properly going yet.

I'm watching Ryan Hall Y'all on YouTube. It's now officially a Cat 2 with 115mph with gusts of 140mph! 12-15ft storm surge ConfusedConfusedConfused

Tail end will hit the UK in around 2 weeks time.

He keeps bobbing around and I can't watch him.

A friend is in Orlando and doesn't seem too concerned. I can't picture the size of florida and how far tampa is from there.

I'm here now on holiday, although I'm in the Disney area. We've been told to stay in tonight and tomorrow and to bring the balcony furniture inside and to stay away from the windows.

We're expecting tropical storm winds and may have localised tornados.

We're also in the same area and haven't seen this advice?

In Orlando now. Raining but very light winds. Not too much concern here. Parks still open etc.
Assumption is mainland and east coast will be ok.
Meant to fly home from Tampa Saturday so hope all OK by then. Will keep you updated if like.
News is very sensationalised out here. But we will see!

It's probably just where I'm staying. They've put posters up all over and are probably just being cautious ⚠️

If disney etc is open then I would be reassured by that. The reports do seem focused on the West Coast taking the worst battering.

Disney parks still open however they have just announced the water park and mini golf park will be closed tomorrow.
Universal open however they are not opening early hours to guests staying onsite - so not opening until 9am.
Windy is the best weather reporting app FI.
Looks very much like west coast impact.

Won't say that! We've just been through the beginning of it in Mexico. Not looking forward to yet more rain from it when back in the UK Grin

Disney have closed typhoon lagoon. They generally don’t close the main parks unless it’s really bad (although having been at Disney in a hurricane I can confirm it gets very quiet and you wouldn’t want to be on an outdoor ride.)

It's a little bit windy and is raining here at the mo, with the odd flash of lightning and rumble of thunder.

Sensationalised? It's a Cat 4 storm ffs. Y'all need to just Google it's track, it's going through the armpit and Orlando isn't in its path.

Chances of tampa being open again with no issues in Saturday is very low. It’s currently closed. Even if they get it open again there are likely to be significant issues.

Morning! Hope the disney posters manage to enjoy their hols despite the storm. I gather wet weather is typical of this time of year so am guessing there's plenty to do!

Tik tok shows people buying bottled water and non perishable snacks. I'd probably do the same and get devices charged in case of power/utility issues.
