Fourth attempt at letting you know about the storm risk tonight.

Risk is primarily in the east from around Cambridgeshire upwards and northern England. Risks consist of high winds, torrential downpours and perhaps large hail.

As ever, it is difficult (impossible) to predict where thunderstorms may form in a risk area and while one town may suffer a deluge, the next may stay totally dry.

And argh MN! Let me post this!

Absolutely belting it down here. Had to shut all the doors and windows as the wind can't decide what it's doing. Tons of lightning.

Hadiever · 27/08/2019 19:19

A very big storm here about an hour ago. Localised flooding and power outage. Had seemed to have passed by but it may be coming back again by the sounds I am hearing.
We are Cambridgeshire ( close to the border with Beds)

Lisette1940 · 27/08/2019 19:21

No storm here in Aberdeenshire although there is a Met Office warning. Husband has come down with pre-storm headache which he usually does.

ControversialFerret · 27/08/2019 19:22

NW here. BBC weather says it will hit us about 9ish. Hope so. Dogs hate thunder but it's so hot and muggy - we need the rain!

TopBitchoftheWitches · 27/08/2019 19:25

I'm in the area on that last pic, no storm here. Just hotness.

Crockof · 27/08/2019 19:25

It's fucking pissing it down here in Devon, weather forecast on Sunday was for slightly cloudy dry week, so like an idiot I booked to camp.
Serious camp fever here, don't think I can face a storm so hopefully they stay more easterly.

Lisette1940 · 27/08/2019 19:26

It's gone all weird, dark and quiet though 😜

SpringLake · 27/08/2019 19:33

Live lightning map. I was shown it recently, and can't stop watching it!

SW Herts and still stiflingly muggy with blue sky.

Hoping for a cracker of a thunderstorm but would also like to keep the washing out for maybe another half an hour Grin

LemonPrism · 27/08/2019 19:37

Shit. Good job I'm on a boat in the North tonight 😂 will make sure I moor up properly

OhYouBadBadKitten · 27/08/2019 19:40

That's quite exciting Lemon!

Clouding over here - with that funny kind of brightish light that you get when a storm's on the way.

Lisette1940 · 27/08/2019 19:57

Storm off the coast of Dundee now.

HellonHeels · 27/08/2019 20:21

Desperate for a storm here in west London. But just been out to water the garden because it looks unlikely.

Outside fairly comfortable now but inside is an oven and this flat rarely heats up to horrific levels.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 27/08/2019 21:33

Storms fading out somewhat now.

Fourth attempt at letting you know about the storm risk tonight.

Iggly · 27/08/2019 21:54

No storm. Heat and humidity are horrendous

homemadecommunistrussia · 27/08/2019 22:04

I may have praise be'ed too soon, we had five minutes.Sad

Perihelion · 27/08/2019 23:56

Nothing in Edinburgh, though we've done very well for storms this summer.
I'm a bit Shock at the 10 day forecast. I've a friend getting married a week on Saturday in the Highlands and was quite surprised at how low the temperatures were.....like packing my winter coat cold Hmm

LemonRedwood · 28/08/2019 09:29

Nothing. Zilch. Nada. So disappointing!

(and it's still humid and I've been sweating since about 6am 😑)

OhYouBadBadKitten · 28/08/2019 15:16

better luck next time!
