Fourth attempt at letting you know about the storm risk tonight.

Risk is primarily in the east from around Cambridgeshire upwards and northern England. Risks consist of high winds, torrential downpours and perhaps large hail.

As ever, it is difficult (impossible) to predict where thunderstorms may form in a risk area and while one town may suffer a deluge, the next may stay totally dry.

And argh MN! Let me post this!

Just had a couple of spots of rain and the wind got up but the sun is again shining and as hot as ever. Would like a storm here but they ways miss us being in the Chilterns.

Bellasblankexpression · 27/08/2019 17:57

SE here no sign of anything :( I was really hoping we would get a storm to clear the air

EstuaryBird · 27/08/2019 17:58

Keeping a hopeful eye on Lightning Maps but it’s going over a long way north from us here in Kent Sad.

RosaWaiting · 27/08/2019 18:17

Seems like it’s moving away from London. Meh.

FrangipaniBlue · 27/08/2019 18:45

I'm in the northern patch. Storms north and south but nothing for us yet, although the sky is getting darker and my head is pulsing with pressure.

Podwoman888 · 27/08/2019 19:00

Thanks for that.

Hopefully it will clear all this hot & humid weather we have been having and freshen everyting up.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 27/08/2019 19:08

It will be substantially cooler tomorrow and from then on I think. In fact, there is some possibility of snow on the very top of some of Scotland's peaks next week.
