I think Monday will be the worst choppiness wise, tomorrow will be a bit choppy I think, Tuesday it calms down a little, but also the wind turns back to westerly.

Thanks for your quick reply OYBBK - here’s hoping it’s not too bad!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 28/04/2018 09:13

Fingers crossed for you :)

I'm away from my laptop today, so won't be able to update until tonight.

Some thoughts on the weather for the next few days from Netweather and TheWeatherOutlook.

Looking wet/chilly for the first part of the week but looking like a warm up later and towards next weekend.

Whywonttheyletmeusemyusername · 29/04/2018 11:51

waves to OYBBK and Gloria !! Bet you didn't think you'd still be here in April !!! This weather needs to bugger right off...its so depressing

Whatthefoxgoingon · 29/04/2018 11:55

I’m going out while it’s still dry in London, sunshine is too much to hope for!

GloriaSmud · 29/04/2018 12:24

Certainly didn't think there would still be mention of the S(now) word and we'd be forecast a 'high' of 6C (as forecast for Leicester tomorrow), whywontthey Grin

Netweather's precipitation chart for midday tomorrow.

Aargh. DD1 is looking forward to a special outdoor activity at school tomorrow, but we're right in the middle of the warning area so can't see it going ahead. She's had a few other activities cancelled for various reasons recently, so feeling a bit sorry for herself.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 29/04/2018 13:31

updated warnings

Up to 80mm possible tomorrow for some. That is A Lot for the SE. There will be flooding. Potential for coastal flooding too.

brb,

I’m so fed up of rain. I have 2 large dogs to walk twice a day and it’s miserable. I’m in east Anglia and dreading tomorrow. 😩

OhYouBadBadKitten · 29/04/2018 14:01

ihatethecold north facing coasts could be overtopped tomorrow.

Oh god, it's it going to be really horrible in Newhaven tomorrow? The train info said trains might not be running due to the rain, but Trainline isn't showing anything yet.
I think I'm close to a flooding area too.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 29/04/2018 14:17

It is itsazoohere. It looks really unpleasant. Gale force winds, temps not far from freezing and a lot of rain.

Not looking good here in SE Essex. Cold and breezy already.
Tides look to be around 6m and a rather nifty fishing website I've just found, suggests this is quite high.

I came home early as it was freezing. I can’t believe it’s the first of May on Tuesday Confused

anxiousmumma12 · 29/04/2018 18:18

Hello.

am in West Sussex on the coast and wondering if conditions will still be ok to go out in or just horrible to be out in ?

Have a bus to catch to work along the coast and v v worried

Perihelion · 29/04/2018 18:25

Well it was cold enough to snow in the early hours of this morning, but didn't. And then blazing sunshine all afternoon in Edinburgh. It's warm if you're in the sun and out of the breeze.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 29/04/2018 19:27

hah. It's really cold here.

I think the low has trended a little east, however still a very nasty day tomorrow, with localised flooding, especially towards Kent and East Sussex. Gales are likely to bring some branches down and I'd expect some travel disruption.

anxious mummy, check with your bus company before you set off.

Wind wise, it's nothing more than an autumn gale, albeit with the wind in an unusual direction, which will affect places like coastal Norfolk in particular. There will be surface flooding for some, but exactly where is impossible to predict at the moment.

Fabulous :(

Stomach in knots about this

OhYouBadBadKitten · 29/04/2018 20:01

This is the problem with these threads, it does cause anxiety for some. Please try not to worry.

Generally with yellow warnings I personally just build in extra time into travel, tidy the garden if necessary and keep an eye on twitter accounts.

When warnings become amber, I start to consider if I really do need to do that activity and if I do, how can I mitigate any risk (looking at route changes, whether I can do things from home, or aim to travel outside the warning times.)

During a red warning (I've only had one) I cancel any plans.

It's not your fault it causes Me anxiety .
Thanks :)

dementedma · 29/04/2018 20:25

Thank God it's not Scotland - for once!
I still have my snow tyres on and daren't tempt fate my removing them. it's been lovely this afternoon though

gttia · 29/04/2018 20:26
