Idly looking through the coming weeks weather models. On GFS Thursday stands out as a day with potential for some severe thunderstorms in the south and south east. It shows a low pressure area bringing some very warm and moist air up from the south, with a lot of energy available to creat some cracking weather.

Caveats: ECMWF and UKMO aren't quite so gung ho I don't think, but I can see more detail with the GFS model, so it's easier to interpret. The met office website shows nothing of the sort. As I'm just an amateur, please use the met office website before making/cancelling plans.

Squirm, that's ace!!! I'd best warn dh to be on the look out!

It feels as though the world is waiting for something big. Can't tell whether it is the vote, or whether it's the weather but it's so still.

OYBBK hi 😊

Any chance that DD2's Sports Day in NW London will be cancelled tomorrow morning - either due to bad weather at the time, or huge amounts of water logging rain between now and then? Pleeeaaase???

WhoKnowsWhereTheTimeG0es · 23/06/2016 13:18

My DD's Soorts Day tomorrow has been postponed due to waterlogging and the fact that all this further rain is expected later.

OhYouBadBadKitten · 23/06/2016 13:34

Hearts, I'd say there is a very good chance due to waterlogging. Especially if you catch the next band of storms at all. Amber warnings out for them now

tomorrow looks dry, but humid.

if you are due to be travelling home tonight, keep a close eye on what your train provider is saying.

East Kent is warm and sunny but incredibly humid. Think I am getting the train back just in time!

OhYouBadBadKitten · 23/06/2016 14:46

That's sensible Irene. Storms are struggling to make it over at the moment, but they are still very much on the cards for some I think.

Heavy rain here now, however had the car radio on MW and no thunder crackles.

Stratter5 · 23/06/2016 16:16

What's the lookout for the Louth to Skegness area, please lovely?

BalthazarImpresario · 23/06/2016 16:46

Very humid in North Hampshire, hoping for another storm (if it must rain) this mornings was great. We don't get good ones often

OhYouBadBadKitten · 23/06/2016 18:39

Kent and East Sussex seem to be getting the brunt at the moment, Norfolk has a nice cluster going through it too.

Tonight please, I can see it's all pretty much died out. We've been to the cinema, did I miss any action?

OhYouBadBadKitten · 24/06/2016 06:25

ah, oops, sorry! Blush
